This is interesting to say the least!
Maybe putting a self feeding food dish out back so he never has a reason to go "hunting" outside of the back yard? Is he fixed? He may want out because of female cats. Even if he is fixed, sometimes they don't get EVERYTHING and while he can't reproduce he will still have the urgency to "do the duty".
