How far away is your mom's?

Would it be possible to have Thanksgiving dinner at home with your husband and then go to your mom's for coffee and dessert?  I think that your husband is your first priority.  If he doesn't mind, seriously doesn't mind, if you go and you want to go, then go.  If you can tell he wants you to stay home, then I think you should stay with him and see if you can visit your mom a little later in the day. 

I'm sure your mom will understand the obligations of marriage, having just been through a divorce.  Both my husband's and my family have had go-arounds.  Some things we work through, some things we can't work through.
