I'm not dissing your site but WW was a very valuable tool sm

for me. I lost 70+ lb there a few years ago and could not have done it on my own. Very supportive, everyone else has food issues just like you do. I am not a "joiner" but I really felt supported and got good insights into my behavior when I was a regular WW member. It can't hurt - and it's not that expensive.

If you are obsessing about what you eat, definitely seek some kind of support group - whether it is online or in person is up to you, but it helps to get perspective from others like you.

Thank you so for your valuable input. I

had no idea this was the humble-poster board. My bad. You really have caused me to pause and reflect....

valuable commodity
I buy my beef from a local rancher. I have spent all day on a tour of his ranch and cattle which are bred to need less interference from humans. I agree with his philosophies of raising cattle. He does not cater to a niche. His beef is cheap because he has no overhead. He is trying to get people to stop growing corn on the prairie to give to cows, when the cows can make food out of the prairie to begin with. Domesticating animals for mass food production is extremely important where I live, but around here is the feed lots versus the grazers, and I have picked sides. The cow tastes like what it ate when it grazed, that is fine with me, I know how to use a spice rack.
Thank you for those of you who gave valuable info!
I've lived in an apartment my entire adult life and had no idea that a fence would cost that much and all the tools/materials that are involved in building a fence! I got some great info from the majority of the people that responded and truly thank those people :)

I can't say that we could ever afford to have a child, let alone 6, but we did. Most of their childhood I was divorced and supported them alone. It was hard, we had most of the necessities and a few of the wants. Now that they are grown, they say over and over how they were didn't feel deprived, they felt spoiled in many ways. Every one of them has something special that they shared with me, just the 2 of us. They ended up feeling special because of these one on one things. I was adamant that they grow up to be individuals and not part of the pack. I did an excellent job of that. They are all hard workers and thrifty because of what they grew with and without.

It was a difficult time, and yet we remember it as a happy time with lots of love.

The ONLY reason to have a child is a selfish one. I had mine because doggonit, I just LOVE babies, young children, older children, tweens and teens. Now that they are emerging and young adults, I love them even more. I spoiled them with as much time, attention and interaction as I could give them, which even with 6, turned out to be a lot. I have enjoyed and still enjoy watching them grow as people, as individuals. I watch them make choices and learn from them. I see them carry on with their own lives and pretty well ignore me, and I would not have any other way. Let something happen...like one of my sons is divorcing his abusive wife after 5 years (no kids) and he needs his mama to listen, sympathize, comfort and be there for him without judgment, no I-told-you-sos, no recriminations...and with plenty of love and support.

I don't feel that children are necessary for anyone, man or woman, to have in their lives. They were necessary for ME, as necessary as air, water and food! I say, if you want them because you want them because you do, you just do...HAVE THEM and have the number you want, be that 1 or 10. If want to have them to carry on the family name, or because everyone else you know is having one, or because those little pink dresses are so cute, or because your parents want you to have them...those are the wrong reasons and you will be unhappy.

I had my first one because my ex really believed he wanted a child. What he wanted was another person on the planet to worship him and do his bidding. He didn't think he would have to put in any work, either emotional or physical, and the child would adore him on sight. I was not really ready, but I capitulated. I believed differently about children and I understood that they are not in my life to love and revere me, I am in THEIR lives to love and revere THEM. Ends up my kids and I are very close, both boys and girls alike because I did it right.

Do what you want, just be sure you know what that is beforehand.
Our teenager learned a valuable lesson today about cell phones....

She got a new cell phone last month and downloaded a bunch of ringtones, even though I reminded her that each one costs money + the transfer fee, which the system prompts you for as we don't have the internet plan for the cell phone (don't do text messaging either).   Well, she ignored the prompts about the 3 cents per kilibite fee and size of the files alert when she accepted the downloads she selected.  To make a long story short..... her bill for her downloads is right at $60.

She is crying that she has to pay this bill but I'm not working overtime because she ignored my telling her about the costs and accepted the charges.  This will teach her a lesson on responsibility.  She was expecting the bill to be about $20.  She'll be babysitting up a storm this next month to pay this bill!

I do that in the spring. I usually get a tool
and clip the dead parts back and remove them. It just makes them look all fresh and pretty, and then the dead sticks won't tear up the leaves if you get any wind. I am not certain if it is essential, but it improves the look a lot.
The Furminator grooming tool
works well on my dog, especially right after a bath. It doesn't move through the coat as well when the first starts getting dirty or tangled, but my goodness, does it take it out when the coat is clean. Not cheap, but you would keep a lot of fur from going through the cat's system.
OMG! YES, YES YES!!! AGREED!! LOVE MY TOOL!

He may not be the sharpest tool in the shed.......
but he is certainly NOT retarded. Thank you for at least putting your thoughts about our President nicely. I can respect your opinion when you put it that way.

Instyler Hair Tool

Hello,

I saw a commercial for the Instyler hair straightener/curler.  Has anyone tried it?  Like it?  I have woah-frizzy hair, straight in some places, curly in others, and can't do a thing with it.  Hoping this could be what I've been looking for.

I agree; a great housebreaking tool, and
many dogs like them. My Misha didn't, so once I tested her out of the crate at night and she passed, her crating days were over. When we brought CJ home the breeder told me to use a crate. I was too lazy to clean up the old crate that was out in the garage, so I tried CJ loose in the living room (with baby gate at the hall) and just a dog bed. He did fine that way. Now he has proven that he doesn't have accidents on carpeting, so DH has started letting the dogs sleep on the floor in our bedroom. I love it. But I'd never criticize those who find crates work for their dog. I'd just suggest putting it in your bedroom, especially for a puppy.
The tool I use to 'convince' my husband to agree.

Isn't it refreshing to know you are not a tool of the consumer "buy buy" society? sm
I can't tell you how empowering it is to know that I have 50K in savings and liquidity, as well as a 401K, my cars paid off, my house paid off (although it is old and not fancy). If I need something, I can pay cash for it. What a relief, when the economy is crashing to know that I will be fine (God willing) with what I have!
dysphagia/dysphasia, quick memory tool
dysphagia = G for GUT. The food won't get to my GUT.

dysphasia = S for SPEECH. I can't schpeak when I'm schlurring my words, LOL.
Daughter's phone is daughter's responsibility. Valuable lesson learned.
It should be between the daughter and the friend if the friend is going to pay any of the fees. They are teenagers, not preschoolers.

I use this site
Vacationstogo.com and I got my trip last year thru Kitty. I only went on the land to Alaska and it was a wonderful time, part by tour bus and part by train. I in younger years went all over Mexico, Europe and the Caribbean but had traveling companion (daughter) then. Now she is grown and wants to do her own vacations and me also. I hope never to get too old to travel. Bon voyage!
cant they set their site to

private and you cant view it without being approved by them?

but if your son is college age...well, he is pretty much on his own isnt he? or he should be.  why stir up crap for yourself?  what if you find something you dont approve of...what are you going to do...tell him you were snooping and what the heck is he doing???

Here is a web site.

The problem is that no matter how responsible a dog owner you are, dogs can accidentally escape.   What would happen to an innocent person walking down the street if your dog happened to escape your yard or your house?  One story on this web site is about two little boys who were walking down the road when a pit bull came bounding out of the woods and knocked one of the boys to the ground and latched onto his face.

No one can ever convince me that this breed has any unique combination of personality traits that make it worth risking innocent human lives to own one.  I think the entire breed should be destroyed.  The evidence of their inherent danger is overwhelming.

site
I did read the website, but it still doesn't mean anything to me. I still can't be judgmental & say that the whole pitbull breed are killers and I can't say it's the people's fault either, and I can't even sit here & say that every attack that involves a "pitbull" is actually a purebred 100% "pitbull", can you??? Again, UNLESS I was there & heard and witnessed everything that happened, I can't pass judgement in any of the dog attack cases what so ever and I leave that completely up to God. And I know you said previously that you were not passing judgement, but it sure sounds like are you. I just can't do that. I see the broader picture in everything and I leave the judgement up to God. And in everything in life just in general there are always two sides to every story.
I saw that site too....sm
I think when I get another one made I will try it on there. That is a cool site.
if you go to the irs site
there is a section called "where is my refund" and you enter your ss#, what you claimed (head of household, single, married filed separate, etc) and the exact amount of your refund, and it tells you when it should be sent or deposited. It tells you who to contact if it hasn't been received by such-and-such time after the date, at least it did back when I looked in February. I got my check a few days earlier than it stated, but I had mine direct deposited.

hope that helps.
How do you post a pic to a web site?
I have a picture at Snapfish and I would like to just copy and paste it to a web site.  I can't seem to manage it.  I have tried copying the URL to the web site and that works - they can click on the link and go to Snapfish but that is not what I want.  I want the pic to show up within the post of the web site.  I'm sure its simple but I just don't know how to do it.  Can you help?  TIA
eek sorry if I posted a bad site (m)
I was just googling for jewish actors and saw that site had a list that might be helpful for the OP to find who she was looking for. I did see the statement it was not a hate site and didn't really look at anything else on it.

Did not mean to offend anyone.

New Lifestyle, the Chocolate and Chocolate Mint are great. Vanilla is okay, Strawberry not so great. I bit the bullet and ordered 2 months worth, in the past I have gotten 2 weeks worth and alternate with Total Soy shake powder which I get at BJs which is the only way to get a good price on these things in bulk. But the NL shakes are only available from that website unfortunately. Cost about the same as Omnifast, Medifast, etc. but from reports taste a whole lot better.
I haven't done it in a while, but here is a site
that looks pretty good:

Keeping the crate in the family area during the day and your bedroom at night is very important for a puppy. Being alone is distressing, and they don't learn as well when they are stressed about that.

I know you're probably getting tired and frustrated, but you can do this. Good luck.
Can you name the site you looked at? Thanks!

Here is a site that you can spend about 20 seconds a day clicking on that will give to Hungry children, breast cancer researsh, literacy, animals, etc.  All you have to do is click on each site and major companies will give money daily.  Here is the site http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com and you can go further from there.  There are rainforest sites and child health sites for vitamins.  Jut please pull it up, bookmark it, and you can contibute every day just with a click.   Thanks!!!!
This is the greatest site...
It gives 150 categories. This particular URL is for kids parties. There is a huge list but when you pick individual themes it is broken down to other peoples personal parties and what they did which gives you more ideas. Click on Dress-up party and it breaks down to some 10-y/o parties. Not sure what your child is "in to" but this might be of help.

and no we just have a regular chainlink fence. We had the fence put up when we moved here 6 years ago for our dogs. Our first cat (11 yrs) was an indoor/outdoor cat before we moved here but was a bit timid so stayed very close to our old house but goes over the fence here all the time.
I have worked on-site, but I'd have
to disagree with the fact that the typists are not taken seriously is due to the fact that it is a work from home position.  The big national companies took this from us.  I was an on-siter, made fairly good money (hourly), will collect a pension, and had all of the benefits (which kept getting more expensive each year).  I make plenty more here from my home being an IC with my own accounts.  Once the hospitals and physicians began to know that there were companies they could call on the phone, dictate, and have no worries, they took them up on it.  Why should they pay benefits when the transcription companies could alleviate this expense.  No worries right?  No vacations to pay.  No sick time to pay.  No workers' compensation claims to pay for carpal tunnel or back injuries.  I still feel that we are professionals.  There are actually work-at-home Moms that are note typists, but have made a nice business for themselves.  The work-at-home thing is a trend for parents to take hold of their finances and still run the household.  I know it is not for everyone, but times are a changing.  This computer age has really taken a hold of the economy.  The media has really taken a hold of our children.  My Mom would tell me about how they show so much more now on TV about the war then they would have ever in the past.  We were saved from all the guts and blood.  Those days are over.  It is a dog-eat-dog world out there now, but I can say there are a lot positives.  Virtual assistants are all the go... enjoy the ride!!!  LOL - Take care!
I bookmarked this site. Thank you. nm

Can anyone recommend a web site for
a Leek or Leak procedure of the cervix to remove precancerous cells.  My 18yr old niece is having this done next week.  My SIL knew very little about the procedure and when I Google I am not finding much info.  Thanks.

Went to the site mentioned here, showed step by step, sounds wonderful, snug as a bug in a rug, may make one for myself!
I just visited the site
It is really pretty, but kinda pricey. Did you order from their website or can it be bought someplace else that's less expensive?
I love this site

I did not know what I had until I looked at the site
and it has worked for years for me. Having said that, in the process of having tooth implant in upper front, guess my canine tooth, not sure, the 1 next to the big 1 right in front. Very expensive, hope it is worth it. The flipper on bottom, works great!

The old owner of this site started her own board. There was a lot of posts about this before the list changed hands. It was also down for a few days.
