I'm with you on this one. I really think the

counselor was out of line.  When my children were small, people probably thought I "coddled" them and spoiled them (not with material things) and it hasn't hurt them one bit.  They both grew to be well-rounded, loving adults.  My son is not effeminate.  My daughter does know how to stand up for herself without being rude about it.  I think I would have done the same thing that you did and pulled them out of that school.  Maybe things will be better for them now.
