But one of my best friends was an only child and her mother was a helicopter mother. Even though she really wasn't rebellious at all, my friend really got tired of her mother being involved in everything.

I homeschool, but I also try to have my kids have chances to succeed and fail on their own.

And once they are in college, parents should only get involved if there is a very unusual situation. I think my kids would kill me if I moved to their college towns. LOL
