I had this during 9/11/01 evacuation

I was lugging a suitcase on wheels before and during 9/11/01, and was evacuated from an airport in the NE US, resulting in an extended trip trying to return home.  From picking up this heavy suitcase many times (hotels, taxis) and also overhead (train, planes) - when I returned home, I had what felt like severe chest pain.  It was not my heart but ended up being costochondritis.  It took about 9 months to get somewhat better.

Today, I have to be very careful how I lift anything IF I lift anything.  Being of very short stature also - lifting heavy things taxes my body mainly from the waist up.

I didn't take a lot of anti-inflammatories and took no painkillers (due to I hate popping pills and a liver problem) - I had to *live with it*...it does come back occasionally but never for that long period of time as the first onset.

Hope you feel better REAL soon - I know what it's like and feel for you!
