pain clinic because just got tired of spending 24/7 in doctor's office with nothing found. I googled the slipping rib syndrome and they talked about a thoracic physician so already have an appt next week to see one. I have lots of studies, all negative including complete body bone scan plus all lab work. Maybe this one can not only make a true diagnosis but help me out with the ongoing rib pain.

Hayseed, I type for an All-American female rheumatologist, hey like that name? LOL sm
Where abouts are you located? Are you in Maine yourself?
I used to have these often, now less, and I asked my son's neurologist...sm
He said they sounded like a form of panic attack, but he could not say for sure without more in-depth evaluation.  When you have these, try to remember if it is after a stressful day or when you are extremely tired.  I know they are scary, but once he told me they are quite common in adults, especially these days, I felt better and less afraid.  What terrified me so much was the absolute inability to move and not being able to breathe for what seemed like forever.  Also the feeling that you are screaming at the top of your lungs but there is no sound coming out.  May or may not be what is going on with you, just an opinion.  Hopefully if this is what is going on, you can try some relaxatin techniques before going to bed, hot shower, good book, favorite TV show, medication, whatever works for you to help shut your mind down a little more before going to sleep.  Hope you feel better!
Yeah - one time I told a neurologist that Cafergot was - sm
useless for my migraines. She seemed somewhat preoccupied while I gave her the history, etc. She gave me what I thought was an Rx for something else. (Couldn't read her writing!) Went to the Pharmacy, and you know what she prescribed? CAFERGOT! At that time I worked for the same place I got my healthcare, and ended up transcribing my own office visit note. What did she say? She said that Cafergot 'worked well' for me and therefore she was refilling the Rx.

Their heads are somewhere else, (or else UP something else), and not on their work.
I hardly remember the machete wound (SM)
but I sure as HE11 remember the spider. I lived in Hawaii for a couple of years too, and the cane spider there is something to wet yer pants. I hate spiders but never kill them...make the husband take 'em outside. Now I'm thinking about chickens in the house...
I wound up in the hospital due to excessive smoking
and spent 2 weeks there, gained 26 lbs on the steroids I had to be put on, not a good thing as far as that; however they put me on Theophylline, horrible stuff, IV at first and it sped me up, was up for 2 days and 2 nights, sweating like everything, my hair, the bedsheets, could not get myself sweet swelling and I swore if I could just get off of this horrible medicine I would never smoke again. That was in 1998 and never again. When I went home to work in ྘ easier to smoke and was "eating" about 3-4 packs per day. After the hospital I still picked up and lit those "nonexisting" cigarettes for some time was so used to them. I would never ever tell another person what to do about their own habits but for me so glad - PS- remarried in 2000 and this hubby is so antismoking so has worked out really well.
Of course not!!! Heaven forbid!! She wound have NO part of that!
I said she was perfect, didn't I? Her life was perfect. Everyone should be like her... but of course, I come across women every day with all kinds of problems because they are not perfect and their lives are not perfect ... ahh... poor them... I try to provide them with exercises and the like to help them improve their damaged and imperfect psyches, but there are no guarantees when one has a hisory of making mortal mistakes...
i think a small in school suspension for a punture wound
