and I guess I can only go from my mom's case. she has none of the items you mentioned aside from her social security, such as interest income, except for half of my dad's pension after he died, which is minimal. she was told by a lawyer that she did not need to file that as income. I would hate to have to tell her she did. she barely makes ends meet now, as it is. Between SS and half my dad's pension, she lives on less than 1500 a month and does not have subsidized housing. she pays her own rent out of that.
