My exhusband never would consider it because he said he still might want more children, so I had a tubal and I have never regretted it for a second!

I did not have any problems with a long recovery period, although I did not have it done when I had children. My son was 5 at the time. I personally went out to eat the night I had it done - I was just so happy not to be able to get pregnant again that I would have another tubal tomorrow if they told me I had to!

If you don't want more children in the future, then by all means one of you have the surgery. In my case, thinking that one day I might get divorced and be with another man led me to want to have the surgery myself, since I knew I did not want more children ever under any circumstances.

If God forbid something had happened to one of my children, another child would not have replaced him/her. If my husband started having children in another relationship, then good for him - that would definitely not be a reason for me to want more children.
