when line dried. Just about everything dries stiff. No clue why. We do have well water and no water softener but we do not have hard water. I can live with it though, rather save the money on the electric bill, especially since I use the dryer in the cold months. We are planning on getting a wood burning stove for next winter so I may be able to line dry inside in the kitchen next year, just will need to rig something up, ought to be interesting if I do.
