I wish I had the smarts to do what you are doing!

My dogs have absolutely no socialization skills, as we are very isolated.  When my brother came to visit, he brought his German Shepard.  I have very small poodle crosses who have Napoleon syndrome and they will instigate a fight over absolutely nothing.  This was the first time they met a new dog and it was a nightmare.  After I found out very quickly that they were not going to get along just "hanging out," I separated mine behind a wire fence.  They could see and smell each other, but not get injured if someone were to explode.

After an entire day of that, the following day they were allowed to be near each other but on leashes, in case I had to pull my zipperheads away in a hurry.  They were actually fine and turned out to be great friends.  They did all have to eat separately though, but that's because mine were complete dinks.  My brother's German Shepard was absolutely fantastic.  Little dogs...what was I thinking?!

Good luck and stay safe!
