Yes, but after work hours is the same (nm)

I work too many hours to have a TV schedule BUT
My daughter was visiting from college during winter break and downloaded The Office. I didn't watch at first, just heard it while I was doing other things... but I just was drawn to watch. So when I finished 10 hours of work, we'd watch like 5 or 6 in a row. I'm almost caught up and this show is just SO funny to me.

So that's it. My favorite show to watch is THE OFFICE. Can't believe no one said it yet.
I wouldn't have to sit around for 14 hours trying to get work!!.
    I
Had the flu. Missed work. Slept 12 hours. sm
Call in sick maybe twice a year and this year it had to be on New Year's Eve. Hope they didn't think I wanted an early start, because I don't drink. Threw up all morning, lounged on the couch the rest of the day, snoozed here and there, went to bed at 9 and got up at 5:30 to work. Fun day.
I'm not really wasting time during the hours

that I am awake - it's just that right now I am having to work so many hours, almost all fun is squeezed out of my life.  If I could sleep 4 hours a night, I could:

    - always have the laundry caught up.

    - always have my house clean.

    - cook supper each and every night.

    - keep my flowers weeded and watered.

    - read at least a half an hour a day.

    - spend time in devotions and meditation and prayer.

    - exercise.

If I could accomplish these things throughout the week, then I could have each and every weekend FREE!  I feel like I could gain my life back if I could somehow figure out this sleep thing.

    Thanks everybody for your input.

YAY he just quit chirping first time in 4 hours

I was told you cannot make up hours last due to down time
and I had to use PTo for power outage. What was the reason for being down?
Do you mean the actual hours of school. or also time spent
    ol
But thier actual hours are much more than just the hours

    I work part-time as a MT and I also do a little
subbing when I can. I never appreciated the teachers that taught my children until I started subbing. Where I live teachers are certainly underpaid. My SIL is a teacher and loves her job and is a wonderful teacher. I wish she could get paid for her passion for teaching.
Working now though, doing work I had no time to do - sm
over the weekend, and it is due tomorrow morning 8 a.m.; so working on Christmas unfortunately. But luckly it will only take about 3 hours, but still a drag.
I, too, have fibro and work part-time
I work only 20 hours a week -and so far my PS is working really well with me on the days that I am not feeling well (which it also kind of helps that work has been slow)...I'm new to the fibro world so who knows what the future holds though.
My company pays double time, so I work
4 hours spread out through the day on those days, maybe a few in the morning and then a few at the end of the day.  There is never a shortage of people wanting to make double time on these days.  At the places I have previously worked, we did an every-other-year thing for both these holidays unless people didn't want to work them, and nobody was forced to. If you don't want to work a certain day for religious beliefs, you should state this up front, otherwise ask them their policy and whether or not that is something that would work for you.  You always have a choice not to take that position.
and try finding time to workout between children and work...
I wish I had the energy of my 8 year old....
My biggest time waster/sucker-upper is work related

If I need to research a word or a procedure and I find a link with downloadable free surgical videos...watch out!  Fascinating stuff and man, you learn a lot when you watch them and it's accompanied by the surgeon talking the watcher through step by step, because then it really gels in your head.

I do most of my shopping on line though, just because the only stores near me are Walmart and Target, which totally don't buy stuff I need around here.  However, sister wouldn't get paid if I did it during work hours, because I spend too much time researching the best deals and always free shipping, so that can take up quite a bit of time.

I did leave MQ, thanks to lack of work started PT with another company and full time yesteday.
    .
First, that's a lot of hours!! (sm)
That's probably a big part of your problem is that you are working so many hours. But I have a great chair that I bought about 8 years ago when I was having shoulder pain from transcribing. I searched until I found one where the arms would raise up high enough so that I could rest my elbows on the chair arms while I work and that supported my shoulders.
    I need about 10 hours!!!
    LOL.
Really though, I don't feel all there if I don't get 7-8 hours of sleep, but maybe that is because I am accustomed to it, but also that "8 hours" is interrupted by being awoken by the man in my bed that breathes too loud! (i now sleep with ear plugs), plus I have to get up and pee like twice a night...

You raise an interesting point if you can gradually get used to sleeping less... think of all the things I could get done! But it never fails, I have been going to bed around 11, waking up around 6 (interrupted during the night) and without fail I get sooooo sleepy at about 1-2 p.m. Could that be because I have to sit and stare and type all day??
Dont know but I like this post!
    I'm tired now :)
150 hours and then you still have to have

You can put up with just about anything for a few hours! sm
Does he realize how much it means to you that he and you spend Thanksgiving together?  I would pull out all the stops here.  Tell him it is just for a few hours, can he not put up with them for a few hours out of an entire year?  He might also like some reassurance you are not going to let your sister cuss him out again and get away with it (if that is what happened last time).  I really would emphasize how much you want him to go to be with you if nothing else.  Then if all else fails, yes I am saying this, use the crying card.  I am pulling for you!!!
    About three hours ago!!! sm

I was walking down the hallway here at the hospital where I work.  It is linoleum flooring and I have pumps on.  I was heading down to the radiology department to talk to the doc about something and probably going a little too fast.  I was turning the corner in the hallway and my heel just slipped right out from underneath my feet!  I was mortified.  But, you know what makes the story even better?...today is laundry day and all I had to wear to work today was a DRESS!!!!!!.  So, I'm sitting on my rump in the middle of a busy hospital hallway trying to cover up my tush before the ENTIRE hospital saw it.

So, in conclusion I guess you could say that:

    1.  I will not be wearing a skirt or dress again to work any time soon.

    and

    2.  I probably need to slow down on the corners!!!

    LOL

Yes - does not work! Hoax if you ask me. MetaboLife doesn't work either.
The only thing that works for me is exercise and eating correctly! No quick fix, unfortunately.
Just got back from HOURS in the ER.
I don't understand why ER visits take so long. There were only two of us in there and we came in together. I was there for 3 1/2 hours.

Anyhoo, after my doctor stopped laughing, I was diagnosed with a flu-like viral illness, second degree ankle sprain, an award winning black eye and dehydration. I do normally have lower blood pressure around 100-110/49-70 and it was about 98/49 when he first saw me. He thinks I was just super talented and passed out from the stomach pain/nausea and sitting on the pot. I have an Aircast to wear for the next few weeks and told to just take it easy. He was more concerned about the chronic nausea I've had since my gallbladder surgery last year, but I think my body just misses all that lovely bile it produced.

So for now I'm pushing fluids and taking it easy.
Or maybe they could wait a few hours
before coming to the board where they very well know the east coasters want to be talking about it.
P.S. - I was lucky, only out about 26 hours
and no trees down in my yard.
It's within a few hours of Las Vegas I believe
and 35 years ago when I lived in Vegas - Pahrump was a very, very small town - probably just a dot on the map - maybe not even a stop light - think I heard recently on some travel show that it had grown - but then again most all Nevada towns lately have.
    3 p.m. I am so Hungry! 3 more hours
and I start the prep...Rite Aid Oral Saline AKA Fleets PhosphO-Soda AT 6 p.m. Ugghh.  My DH's time is near as well.  Just as well, I  am throwing up everything I try to eat as my GERD symptoms and esophageal stricture is acting up.  Think I will just get in my jammies and jump in bed.
    4 hours of commuting
Sorry, but I think you are being a wee bit selfish. Your husband is commuting 4 hours a day, 20 hours a week. That is like having a part time job. But you don't want him gone a few nights a week because you will miss him? Give the guy a break. It is only for a few months. Like they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder.
    Okay, I'll do two hours
So the tougher the cuts the less time you marinate?
    I would be happy with 6 hours a day...sm
Be glad you have work which I am sure you are. I know I need to look for another job. But it isn't easy in these times.
Calcium - take 2-4 every few hours. nm
    nm
Actually, the first visit was 4 hours.
The next two were 2 hours each, if that matters.
    Long Hours
I think you need to send your kids to your parents house for a overnight visit and have a long talk with your husband. A marriage is a two-way street, you may have run up the credit cards but he is the one getting laid off. True it is through no fault of his own but for him to put it all off on you and declare himself retired at 50 with two young children to raise leaving the burden of all the bills up to you is just plain wrong. Excuse me for saying this but you sound like you are afraid to approch him to talk about this, is there another reason that you are afraid to talk to him about it, besides the usual...I don't want to start a fight? How convenient for him, you keep your mouth shut, work even harder than you do now, support the family and he will watch TV while you do it. That just isn't how a marriage is supposed to work and is that what you want your kids to see as an example, the bottom falls out and Dad reacts by shutting down and watching TV?
    Approximately 2 hours or so
I agree with the above poster. It's usually a ratio of 4 hours typing for 1 hour of dictation. It does vary, though for each individual.
    I lose focus after a few hours : (

Tell you how I worked excessive hours
I did the same way as you for several years. I went to work at 5, got off at 1, took a short nap and then went back to work at 5 and worked until 10. This was 5 days a week and then worked the 5-10 on the weekends at least 1 day if not the second also. This nap was probably what kept me going for all those years I worked like that. By the way, only work part now and so happy finally able to get past all those hours.
...kill anyone, especially in just a few hours. Might be uncomfortable,

In VA about 2 hours from the coast, after the last hurricane - sm
in 2003 (also due to 9-11 though) ours jumped from $400 to 650; which compared to those of you in FL is nothing obviously but at the time it seemed quite large. Our car insurance is still quite low though about $400 a year for each of our 2 trucks.
Had to leave mine outside for a few hours
I kept wondering why sellers on ebay would put 'from a smoke-free home' on their ads. I eventually found out why! The smoke smell from the book was driving my cats crazy so I finally put it on the table on the porch outside and let it air out for a few hours.
But they can say I need xx reports/lines in 24 hours.

My mom is 8 hours away - but they happily stay with her (sm)
When I go visit my family, my kids stay with my mother while I go and visit other friends, etc. The difference might be that they have cousins there to play with and my mother jokes and plays with them and is affectionate. In-laws are not that way. No kids around my in-laws. I really don't know exactly why they think it is so horrible. I have asked them. They just say that they are bored, grandma is strict, she won't make any adaptations to things she cooks and makes them eat whatever she makes, she takes them to all-adult functions and makes them sit through things. They also have a farm and sometimes make the kids work very hard digging potatoes or whatever they are doing at the time.
A pup should not be expected to "hold it" for 8 hours

You have to have 150 hours with specific courses
I know. My sister just sat for it.

Already put in long hours and have plenty - sm
of work, so that is not a problem....would love more per line of course...only get .07 and .08 now. DH could play chauffer that is for sure but one activity one daughter does ends in 2 2 weeks (and is free) and won't start up again until October, but would cut out one of their other activities at $120 a month...though will keep them in dance at only $60 a month...don't want them to lose all they do...Between the two of them they do 4 things, only pay for 2 and they will lose 1 of those. They are 8 and 10 so don't want to burden them with this though I do want them to be aware. When I am driving them to their activities I do take my laptop with me and usually work in the car when I have to wait an hour, though not going at all would be a bigger help. He already does the cooking, though I do everything else though I am not what you call a regular house cleaner, once a month or so for everything, and touch-up vacuuming in-between. I suspect if it happens he will sit in the LR all day watching TV, saying he is done with working as he is almost 50 and wanted to retire at 55 as it is and that it is my problem to fix (because of the cc issues). He inferred this last night when he dropped it on me and ran. So it will not be pretty, even w/o the debt it would be tough though less to worry about and more doable. ---I do have a plan of actiion thought out and if I have to beg my dad or his parents for the money to pay the house off I will--I will pay back every penny too, just may take a while. They don't know of our (my) past issues, etc. but will confess all in order to get help, don't want to but more than willing to do it if it means keeping this roof over my head.
108 hours without a cigarette -- going nuts
Dang!!! I've quit before, never quit quitting, but this is SO HARD!!!  Jumpy, jittery, freaky, sleepy, wierd.  I'm all out of sorts.  Doing the Chantix and the gum, so I'm truly not dangerously mean.  I want to be a normal person, not someone addicted to this horrible habit.  I want to be regular people.  I envy nonsmokers and how normal they can be -- not obsessed with this frenzied urge.  ARRRGGGG!!!!  How much longer will I be nutso?
    Rigor mortis -72 hours
I just read two different reports on Rigor mortis. It can last as long as 72 hours according to both. It sets in at about 3 hours after death -- maxium stiffness at 12. So the body then would not have been like rubber at that time -- it this info is correct.
I'm 40 and my production in the early a.m. hours is awful
I can't really get going until around 9:00 or so. I go to bed around 12:30 and get up before 7. Guess I need more sleep too.
Not many teachers just "work" during the hours school is in

Maybe good money for the amount of hours sm
but no enough for what actucally goes into the job.
I'm with you.....my daughter spends hours at home
