he was not impressed with the surgical procedures at that time. What he did find useful was to have the nurse practitioner teach Kegel exercises. She would even use the internal weights to help people get more benefit from the exercises.

If you give the exercises a real try and they don't help you and you want surgery, make sure it's a urologist who specializes in the surgery and gets good results. Urologists tend to specialize, and you don't want just anybody doing a sling procedure or whatever the latest thing is.

Do your research because it would be terrible to end up with an irritated nerve or some annoying thing you have to live with that might be worse.

Here is a WebMD article:

I worked in bankruptcy law for several years... sm
Let me preface this by saying this is NOT LEGAL ADVICE. It is simply information I have gleaned by working for collection law firms over th years. The lawyers I worked for advised me personally to always put "PAID IN FULL" on any check you send to pay something off. When a creditor gives you a payoff amount, it is THEIR responsibility to get it correct; if they don't, the "PAID IN FULL" is a legal agreement that they accepted that as full payment. It saved me a lot of heartache over the years.

Now, don't try this on your mortgage or if you owe a substantial balance; that it not what we are talking about. That is fraud if you do it, and it will not work.

It never hurts to use those little "note" lines on your checks to record your honest intentions. Then, you have grounds to fight back when they try to charge something unfairly, i.e., finance charges after the fact. Food for thought.
I worked in the schools with them for years.
Try raising them for their entire lives. These kids have LOTS of other problems, just ADHD as an example because there are so many kids on this stuff. They are on LOTS of medications which do cause a lot of GI upset. You're grandchildren are lucky if they didn't get stuck on these drugs...unfortunately, the kids I'm talking about aren't so lucky.. they are court mandated to be put on these drugs without a thought of what it is doing to them.

You obviously assume I don't know what I'm talking about...being sick to your stomach has nothing to do with being disrespectful. I've seen disrespectful up close.
I worked with one of those people for a few years..sm
In a fairly small office. I learned the hard way she would be all sugar kisses to your face and all fire daggers behind your back. She was a liar, a sneak, a cheat, and the best friend of my supervisor, making it a very precarious situation for me.
The only way to survive was to completely ignore her and to tell her NOTHING. I allowed myself a polite 'hello' to her and that was all. No matter how much she prodded me for personal info, for gossip, for details, for anything that could help HER, I never said a word. Not even idle chat at the lunch table.

People like that need fuel to function, and their fuel is information. If they know nothing about you, they can't use it against you.
Having worked with feral cats for many years, best bet is
to get a have a heart trap and catch the cat, go straight to the vet for testing, neutering/spaying, the isolate in a single room and try to start to working with it. It already knows your voice and you are a source of food which is a start. It does take time though, and there are those that just never really come around, but it is worth a try.
I worked in a dental office for years
and if you're going there religiously every three months and they never before said anything about your teeth being in disrepair, then something is NOT right there.  I would run screaming and get another opinion.  I worked for a very unscrupulous man (oh, don't get me started!), and I know the tricks people like that use.  He had to make his Mercedes payment, and the Range Rover payment for his 16-year-old, among his other payments, and would pull all kinds of things on his patients.  They're not all trustworthy out there, and your story sounds highly suspicious, because if your teeth are being taken care of and watched every three months, trouble should be spotted long before it turns into the need for a crown.  Please see someone else.  Don't tell them what your dentist said, and see if they say the same thing.  Just go in for a cleaning and x-rays and see if the new dentist mentions the need for all those crowns.  And if you do actually need them, then your dentist is one of those who knows about a cavity and lets it go to where you need a crown.  Either way, I would NOT go back...
For many years when worked in animal clinic, after
never a problem.  Using a special litter after surgery is a relatively new idea. They have litters very similar in texture to regular litters for after declaws but where I worked, we told owners if kitty wont use box with special litter, to just use the regular litter and again, never had a problem with it.
I have 3 kids and worked in preschools/daycares for 10 years
I understand that sometimes you get to your wits end and you end up spanking children, I clearly remember slapping my child's hand when he was 1 because it was a reflex when he was going to touch something dangerous. However using a switch???? that is insane and it sickens me that the poster so nonchalantly said "don't leave welts" and she would have her children undress basically saying so that the impact was harder.  I don't think most people intend on abusing their children but what could happen when the parent gets out of control, when the anger and frustration get so much that you are seeing red and you don't realize what you are doing, I think that is very scary and I think that there is always a different way to discipline your children.  I have gotten to the point where my kids make me so furious I see red, especially my 4 1/2 year old, I have to physically put her in her room and close the door and sometimes yes I have held it closed until we both (mainly me I am the adult) calm down.  I know how hard it is to parent I just don't feel hitting is ever the answer.
Have you seen a urologist for
a cystoscopy? I had one when I was 19, as well as an IVP because I was getting frequent infections. Have you tried Azo Standard from the drug store to see if the frequency improved? It numbs the urinary tract, but turns urine fluorescent orange. You could also try the concentrated cranberry pills if you think it's an infection, but I'm not sure that would be good for you if you have IC. Hope it's not IC.

Currently I'm having very cloudy urine with no other symptoms, so I'm taking cranberry pills. I think I just got dehydrated at the beach or maybe it's from being in the pool or something??

Have your doc or NP refer you to a urologist NOW!!!.....
I worked for a urology office for 13 years...you have what sounds like pyelonephritis or something worse. THe sooner it is treated, the better. If your doc can't get you in, go to the ED. They can usually get you set up with a specialist right away.

Please let us know how it goes. Will keep you in my thoughts.
My husband is 7.5 years younger. Been together almost 20 happy years...nm
nm
My feelings; people shacking up together for years and years
and then all of a sudden deciding to get married don't need a thing, obviously. A shower should not even be given. I lived with my now husband a while (nowadays who doesn't!) before we married and I also had been married before years ago but he was not....so of course HIS mom wanted a shower. I told her absolutely not unless it was just the immediate family, his mom, sisters, etc, more like a celebration/get together. And so that's what we did. Showers are tacky, period. Unless it's a couple of young kids getting married straight out of the house and that doesn't happen much anymore.
Been with a man 13 years older, now with a man 4 years younger.
Younger is better, at least in my case ;)
Sorry, meant 75 cents. Still, that was years and years ago.

I studied to be a scopist years and years ago
Back in the early 1990s I took a course called Note reader Scopist. They read court reporter notes (those long skinny papers that looks like a cash receipt) and types them into documents. I had found the course through something called At Home Professions but just didn't finish it because it was too expensive for me. But I am familiar with them and even found my book from the first course I took. Looking back I think it would have been a blast if I had kept up with it.

It is definitely legitimate. A lot has changed since the early 90s, so I'm not too familiar with the industry now. I do remember what was really weird was it didn't take a lot for me to learn it. For instance I could look at a line of court notes and see something that looked like: NV p srn - and I seemed to know exactly what it said. Just weird. My DH used to say that I understood it because I was an alien and my ship crashed in Roswell. HA HA HA Anyway...that's what I know about it. But if you Google note reader scopist or at home professions i'm sure you could probably find a lot of info.
I have been vegetarian on/off for 35 years, was vegan for about 5 years sm
not that hard. Right now, I am having so many issues with food allergies and celiac disease, having to give up nightshade veggies...nothing left to eat. I am eating some meat now, but not when the gastroparesis sets in!

Being vegan is not hard...unless you are a celiac. This is how I figured out the celiac part because so many of the meat analogs and vegan packaged foods use gluten for the protein and I got really sick from it. I gave up all the premade things and the whole grains with gluten and I was fine.

There is vegan and then there is VE-GAN. By definition, vegans don't wear, use or consume anything that is derived of animals...no leather shoes, most shampoos and toothpastes are off the list, as are deodorants. No wool or silk. Anything with soap usually has animal byproducts. It is very involved and rather difficult to do.

Giving up meat, eggs and dairy is no big deal, except for cheese. You hear that ad about "comfort proteins" in a baby formula and there is such a thing. Mother's milk, be it human, cow, goat, whatever...contains a chemical that triggers the release of endorphins in the brain so that feeding feels good in more ways than one. The purpose of this is ensure that the nursed young want to nurse and thrive. Human milk has a lot of these, so does cow's milk and cow juice triggers the same reaction in the adult human brain. Cheese is concentrated milk and therefore these chemicals are also concentrated. As a result, cheese is an addictive substance. This is the hardest thing to give up when going vegan. Vegan cheese substitutes are nasty and they don't melt. If a dairy-free cheese melts, it contains casein, an animal protein and not vegan.
I studied this years and years and years ago
Most definitely is legitimate. In the late 1980s I studied to be a note reader scopist through a group called At Home Professions. I loved it, but unfortunately could not continue due to no funds. It was reading the court reporters notes which looked like a grocery receipt with a bunch of letters scattered on it. The weird thing was I found it extremely easy. For instance I would see a line that looked like: av e cr, and for some reason I would know what it said. My DH told me that's because I'm an alien and my ship landed in Roswell. HA HA. Well I know that a lot has changed, after all it's been over 20 years since I took the first course and know a lot of it is computerized now, but it is most definitely legitimate and I've heard people like to do it. I think I remember one of the courses was in medical terminology and another course was in legal terminology. Should be able to find a lot of it on google, or maybe go to your local college if they offer it and talk to an instructor.
5-HTP worked much better for me.

It worked!
I'm not as dumb as I look.
It worked!

Here is what I did and it worked.
When accidents occurred indoors, I never scolded unless I saw the crime. I would take the paper towel that I used to clean it up and go to the area in the yard where I wanted him to "go." After a week or two, the area was marked with the scent and the dog, when outside, concluded that was his area to go potty. Soon enough, he chose that area to do his business.

When I did catch him, I took him directly to the area in the yard which was the potty.

They catch on eventually. Be consistent and don't scare him.
What worked for me -
I lost 20 pounds doing low carb 4 years ago and have kept it off by watching refined carbs. I have always exercised and continue to do so. I like *Yourself Fitness* because the workout is different every single time. Best of luck!
It worked!
He looks like a sweet cat my in-laws once had when I first married their son. He was left outside, was intact, flea-ridden and battle-scarred but a sweet boy. Loved to have his head scritched. He lived a long time for an outdoor cat.
It worked for me.
I learned something also.  I did not know that the more you weigh, the more calories you burn doing the same thing, interesting.  Thanks.
Thank you T...My DH worked his way...
up to six figures (yes, the low end). You are right when you say some people think that is a lot of money when sometimes it is just enough to get by on for some people. We are fortunate and have made it a point to be debt free. We will not be a slave to the lender, working only to make payments on meaningless things. There is no reason for the catty remarks and jealousy. Some women are just bitter about life, and if that is the case figure out how to make it better. Life is too short to be unhappy.
What we did, which worked -sm
Same story here, except sometimes the dog would actually get out from under the fence and commence to follow us around our yard and bark when our neighbors were not home.  My husband finally went over there one night to ask them if there was any way at all they could stop their dog from barking nonstop.  They said they knew it barked and were very sorry it was bothering us.  It stopped for about 6 months and then began happening again.  Hubby then wrote a short note and placed it next to their mailbox, all the time stating we wanted to remain good neighbors with them but would very much like to be able to enjoy our own yard without hearing their huge dog barking all the time.  It never happened again after that, going on 2 years now.  No problems at all with them.  Sometimes, it seems, people are very clueless or careless until you mention it to them.  Try saying something in person.  You may be surprised in a good way.  Best of luck!
What worked for me
Tempting though it is, you don't want to reward timid or frightened behavior by giving affection then.

When I have detected nervous energy in any of my dogs during storms, I just started playing a favorite game of theirs to distract them. The noisier and more rambunctious the game, the better. The breeds I've had are not particularly sensitive to noise, I admit, but I learned with Sasha that all I had to do was play growly bump (her own game she taught me) to take her mind right off a storm.

If this worked then....(sm)

Hey, I literally feel your pain!  Sometimes it feels as if I am sitting on a huge nail on my right buttock.  Look up stetches online for sciatica.  Like others have said, it really does help.  I also get chiro adjustments and get a sports massage every other week, so I can continue to sit in my chair.  Hope you find some relief!
worked at an
less expensive places gave the food they were going to throw out to employees, however the expensive place I worked at was 20% discount only.
What has worked for both me and my husband...
Lower your carbs starting NOW. Eat plenty of protein, along with a little fat at each meal, to keep you full. Do not drink your calories. Stay away from ALL refined carbs until you get where you want to be and then really keep them low because most of them are plain old not good for you anyway. Never allow yourself to feel *starving* because your body goes into a mode where it holds onto fat and the amount of calories you burn really drops down. Also, you have GOT to exercise, no way around that. Get moving EVERY single day, no excuses. Following these rules has allowed me to keep off the 20 pounds I had put on from never moving out of my chair (typing ALL day) over 5 years ago. Just had my blood work done and it is EXCELLENT. Good luck to you! :-)
What has worked with my hubby -
Men want to be fed. They want REAL food. To them, that means meat. I take hubby to Longhorn that night, he orders a big steak, potato, veggies, salad, etc. I also buy him some silk boxers with hearts on them and, well, you can guess the rest! He usually gets me candy and flowers, but he is always very surprised and happy when I do things for him this day. Good luck! :-)
Glad it worked for you!
I had those shots from the pain clinic before they put me on the narcotics, but they made me way worse. I will never ever have them again. I'm really glad they worked for you though. I tried all sorts of things before going to heavy duty pain meds, but nothing worked, and I wasn't functioning at all. I looked and felt like I was 80 or more even though I just turned 30. Now, I'm on a 50-mcg fentanyl patch with oxycodone 10 mg for breakthrough pain (along with other nonnarcotic meds) and occasionally using a TENS unit.

I still don't function at 100%, probably more like 60% to 70% on a good day, but at least that's better than where I was.

I hope the conservative measures continue to work for you, but if they don't, please don't let anyone tell you to learn to "live with it." I went through that for a few years, and trust me, it's no life.

Best of luck to you!

Actually, I worked for a PC company
a long time ago supervising the commercial aspect. They always tell you that, but they can and do die in walls. We were sent out many times to cut them out after people insisted on using poison.

The best advice that I can offer is that once you get rid of them, you seal off any areas where they can get back in. If you don't do that, then you will continue to have problems.

Now rats instead of mice, I don't know what to tell you to do if they are eating through the walls!

Me personally though, I had a rat as a pet. In fact, we had to put her to sleep about a month ago.
The foil worked! Thank you so much! nm

When I worked as a nurse (sm)
There was this CNA who would open up the windows every time someone would die. I thought she was kooky (for many reasons), but she said it was to release the spirit of the person.

I'm not superstitious, but I won't eat beans more than 3 days in a row.
I know and have worked with several doctors
Actually as a Transcriptionist I was glad because so many times you'd get Dr. Smith (if they got married, then which one?)  Well, if they keep their maiden name or at least hyphenate it that made my life a lot easier.  I think it also may have something to do with the fact that if they are in practice, everything must be changed and imagine the expense?  Also if they are well known, they maybe do not want to jeopardize that.  As long as the couple is happy, and he is not offended, I think it is just fine.  Congratulations!  I would address the letter Drs. April Cox and Richard Grant.    JMO.
Worked around this before in cytology
and abnormal cells can also be due to an infection, just like it can be related to malignancy but I would take the lower end first. If it were me, I would definitely want follow up just to make absolutely sure the next Pap would be okay.
if the original had actually worked,
would not have had a problem with the scars. They are on the inner part of the arm, of course, as you probably know and unless I turn my arms upwards, sideways, would never know. I do not wear short sleeved blouses but it is not for that reason, for the fact my upper arms never changed any at all. Like Oprah, I have the bat wings.
I have worked on-site, but I'd have
to disagree with the fact that the typists are not taken seriously is due to the fact that it is a work from home position.  The big national companies took this from us.  I was an on-siter, made fairly good money (hourly), will collect a pension, and had all of the benefits (which kept getting more expensive each year).  I make plenty more here from my home being an IC with my own accounts.  Once the hospitals and physicians began to know that there were companies they could call on the phone, dictate, and have no worries, they took them up on it.  Why should they pay benefits when the transcription companies could alleviate this expense.  No worries right?  No vacations to pay.  No sick time to pay.  No workers' compensation claims to pay for carpal tunnel or back injuries.  I still feel that we are professionals.  There are actually work-at-home Moms that are note typists, but have made a nice business for themselves.  The work-at-home thing is a trend for parents to take hold of their finances and still run the household.  I know it is not for everyone, but times are a changing.  This computer age has really taken a hold of the economy.  The media has really taken a hold of our children.  My Mom would tell me about how they show so much more now on TV about the war then they would have ever in the past.  We were saved from all the guts and blood.  Those days are over.  It is a dog-eat-dog world out there now, but I can say there are a lot positives.  Virtual assistants are all the go... enjoy the ride!!!  LOL - Take care!
I think my mom worked at Kresgies

right out of high school for a short time.  Wasn't that like a five and dime department store?  My aunt used to say my mom spent her check before she had it.  They closed Kresgies before I was born so I don't remember it at all,but the building is still there and they have renovated part of the downtown where Kresgies was with a theme on Warner brothers as the city was the first place they filmed.

OH THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!! IT WORKED!!! SM

i'm going to write that down so i'll remember.  hopefully it won't happen again.  i told 5 y/o stick to playstation!

thank you so much!!!!

When I worked in an MD's office,
this was discussed a lot. We identified 3 factors:

1. The rare but memorable mothball smell where people put on their best duds to see the MD, but they are from 1952, and have been stored in mothballs.
2. Corn starch powder, which has a very musty smell to my nose.
3. Rose water perfume. Everybody in the office would be nauseated when one of these ladies would come in.

Worked there. I can answer this.
Worked at clinic.  Some employees better than others at following thru. Some times super busy, i.e., emergencies, overload on phone calls, dr. needs this, do that, come here, etc. There are many reasons for delays. As far as Dr. not listening, what is surprising about that. Try to get Dr. to repeat back to you what he :THINKs you said. You might have asked, "Can you tell me again what this medicine is expected to do?"  Drs would sure like us to believe they are a couple of levels above us lowly mortals, but as MTs we all know they are only human.  And some humans are better, smarter, more patient, better listeners, etc than other human.  You need to be proactive and take charge of your issues.
Glad it worked out well...sm

Hope your daughter is feeling okay...she's been through a lot for naught....You stood up as an advocate for your child and I applaude you!....You are your daughter's first teacher.  Cat

I have one. Worked for a vet clinic. I know.
It is still cruel. Even the vets I worked for were disgusted by the practice.

I was paddled and it worked, BUT
this was at a private school. The policy was that the paddling had to be approved by the parent. They would call the parent before doing it. My mom would tell them to wait until she got there, so I got the swats with HER watching. When I thought they were finished, she would say, "give her 2 more for good measure."

My mom also had a policy that whatever punishment I got at school, I got at home too, so when I got home I got a second dose of swats. If I was assigned extra homework for failing to turn in homework, my mom made me do the next 2 chapters, too.

I think it only happened 3 times total before I realized it just was not worth what I was trying to get away with.
Wellbutrin worked for me...

I keep telling my doctor I could be a poster child for Wellbutrin. It changed my life. Really. I was so hateful I could barely stand to be in a room by myself, and I know my poor DH was miserable.  I am SO much happier now. My GYN said Celexa works for some people, but it made me bounce off the walls.

Good luck!!  Hope you find the right remedy for you!

Actually I do this already :( hasn't worked (nm)

Having worked in vet clinic, I would do it. It is not

surgically removing the first digit of the toes.  To spay, uterus is surgically removed and no one thinks that is cruel. Aside from immediate postop discomfort, which you have with ANY surgery, they didnt seem in pain to me when we declawed a cat at the clinic. It seemed to me that it felt different to the cats, and just took some getting used to.  I cant beleive a vet would say that to you.  Do you think a cat would rather be declawed or thrown outside when is used to being house cat, taken to the pound, dumped in the country or given to someone who might not be so nice
