I would try to see what the extended warranty--sm

covers first. I had it on my last car, $980 extra and 4 things that went wrong were not covered--right now the only things I can think of was the ignition switch broke and the handle on the driver's side floor that opens the gas tank door quit working. Just bought a 2006 Scion and did not get the extended warranty.

Extended warranty
I bought one on my old truck.  I never used.  When I sold my truck I could have called and got the money for the warranty that was loeft on it since I sold it.  I did not do that because I had to much other stuff going on at the time.
The only extended warranty I buy
is for my frontloader washer and dryer. It's only 250 bucks a year, they come out as often as I want free of charge and make sure they work okay and ANYTHING that needs replaced will be paid for, including the $400+ computer for the control panels.
I did buy the extended warranty last...sm
week when I bought my son's Playstation 3 for X-Mas. It was $400, and it is only under warranty for 90 days. So I said if something were to happen to this thing after I have paid that kind of money that would not be good. So for $30 I got an additional 2 year warranty. So for 2 years if it quits working or anything they have to fix it or replace it. When I spend that kind of money I want a longer than 90 day warranty. We bought the Playstation at Wal-Mart.
Ranzy Luster - Fixes and gives warranty. SM
Hi, I have used Ranzy Luster to fix my desktop Laniers, he is in Texas. He did the work fast, I think I remember that he had a $100 fixed price. He is one of the nicer people I have worked with.

He has been around a long time, and advertises on the "other site" under MT Classifieds also.

Here is his e-mail:

Good luck - It's awful when the machines we depend on to help us make our living go bad!

I blew the engine in my truck 7 days after the warranty expired! $7,000 to replace. :( -n/m

I would not buy any extended warranties
That is a good point. I would be careful.
My extended family does that.

It seems to be something that is done more in the South.  But I think everyone deals with the death of a loved one in their own way, so I don't criticize anyone for what they do or don't do.  I personally don't care for the pictures being taken and don't want to see them, but if that gives other family members some comfort, that's fine with me.

Vehicle extended warranties...sm

I'm thinking about buying an extended warranty on a vehicle I just bought.  The factory warranty runs out in a couple of months.  I'm wondering if it is worth the extra money to go with the maximum care/bumper to bumper?  The plan I'm looking at is $280 more for the bumper to bumper.  Any opinions on extended warranties in general would be appreciated.

Extended warranties are the biggest waste - sm,
of money, and the all time scam of the century. The couple times I was d*u*m*b enough to buy one they never, never paid for themselves. I never buy them now, haven't for years and have never had a problem with any of the products I bought that offered them. Believe me the companies that offer them (just about everyone) are laughing all the way to the bank....they take in way more then they ever have to pay out for repair work/replacments, etc.
extended family, boundaries, and etiquette...sm
to me it sounds like your mom violated your boundaries (perhaps without realizing it). you need to reestablish your healthy boundaries. you tried subtle and subtle didn't work. now you need to be direct; kind but direct. use the "i feel|when you|i want" technique. how did you FEEL when your parents invited themselves along on your hard-earned vacation? if you can figure out the FEELING, then you can tell her, "Mom, Dad, I love you and want to spend time with you. But I felt *_?__* when you invited yourselves on my family vacation. I want to spend this week with just my husband and my kids. It's really important to me and not negotiable. If you want to plan an extended-family vacation, then I'm willing to save more time off and more money to do that because I would love to go on a vacation with you; but not right now. Not this trip." How do you think your mom/dad would respond to this? Accepting? Dysfunctional? Deaf? =)
Family is great but I am never back in my hometown where family is... So I always have extended fami
You can always pick your friends your stuck with your family. An Xmas for me is where my husband and kids come home to. It is what you make it!
