Our son is 7-1/2 and our daughter is 11. We live at the end of a mile of dirt road with a handful of other people. I do not allow them to walk that home from the bus and wouldn't even if I lived next door to the bus stop. There are too many sick people out there and it only takes a second for someone to snatch them away. This actually happened not too far from me about 15 years ago where a young girl, 11 or 12, was walking home from the bus stop and got kidnapped, and the only thing they found was her backpack. Sorry if I sound harsh.
