If he has not contacted you, it would seem

he does not want to have anything to do with you. Why, pray tell, would you even want to know someone who abandoned your mother?? You also heard his new wife does not want you around. My father always in our lives, even though he and mother divorced over 50 years ago. If he cared, he would have tried to find before now. If he had not been in my life, I be darned if I would be trying to find. And, by the way, his wife now holds a much stronger hold on him than you would. I would not create waves but that is me and I speak from experience.

She has contacted the sherriff....sm
The sherriff himself called my dad and told him he is not to go back over there. Well he didn't for a few weeks but now he has gotten brave and is going and knocking on the door and yelling out what he wants to say and running back to his truck so if she calls the police he will be gone. The sherriff told her a restraining order is only good for 10 days so that is just a short temporary fix.
BTW, He has a pistol he keeps in his truck. My mom has called and informed the cops of this. They know. And they know what all he has been doing. But it just seems like it doesn't stop. He is like a crazy stalker who won't stop.
As his wife contacted you, you must have had some
contact details. Her son was in jail and instead of helping her, you took their inheritance share, PRETENDING that you do not know their whereabouts?
WOW!

I hope you are not one of those religious freaks, that would really be too much of a hypocrisy!
I have been contacted a few times
Just filled out a survey for JD last week. In about 10 years I have been notified about 4 times. Once had to serve for a week. DH has never been contacted ever (and he's the one who is not working). When I did serve I mentioned that I was in the service and that my best friends husband is a police officer. Didn't seem to phase them and I still had to serve. My sister told me to just say "If they weren't guilty they wouldn't be there in the first place." HA HA
social services should be contacted
to look at this family. It might be futile, but good grief, something needs to happen. That is unreal, beyond bizarre.
fire at school, i was not contacted

Here's what happened:  I dropped my third-grader off at 8:20 this morning.  A group of us moms who drop off their kids meet at a little coffee shop just down the street.  I leave the coffee shop at 9:30 a.m., return home, check my voice mail (none), and then leave to run an errand (taking my elderly neighbor to the garage to pick up her repaired car).  It's now just after 10 a.m.  On the car radio, (from an out-of-town radio station, not local) I hear that my child's school has been evacuated due to a fire and school has been dismissed.

I immediately pull the car to the side of the road and call one of the mom's I had just had coffee with, asking her if she had been called by the school.  She had not.  So, I turn the car around and start racing back to school.  My brother then calls me (his daughter is in the same grade, same school, as my boy), stating that he has picked up our children and is taking them to grandma's house.  He said he had only heard it from his girlfriend who heard it on the radio and called him.

Last year, we had to fill out this form stating who was okay to pick up our kids from school in case of emergency.  My brother was on that list from last year, but this year we were not supplied with one of those forms to fill out.  What if things had changed?  What I had decided he was no longer to be on that list?

Anyhow, I get home, check my voice mail again, still none.  On the noon news, the story is there, stating the children have been evacuated and bussed home.  How many kids got sent to a home with parents away at work?  How many kids waited to get picked up by non-contacted parents?  Isn't there supposed to be an emergency system which can contact 900 parents in a timely fashion?  I am really miffed.  Everything is alright, but this was a fiasco.

How many times have you contacted a gov't official?
As in your state senator or congressman, etc., to complain about something. What did you complain about and did you get a response?

I have contacted gov't reps many times, as well.
Since the anthrax attacks years ago, if you contact them in writing, email is preferred. I usually email or call, and I always get a response. It's not like they're going to change everything based on my one call, but it does help them to know what constituents are thinking.
