If my husband keep "checking" on me to see if I was working, I would throw something at him.

Seriously. That is ridiculous. Especially since you are working and he is not!

How dare he accuse you of doing something that you have to hide?

Get an answering machine. Don't answer the phone, or let him do it, since he has so much time on his hands.

Keep a glass of water on your desk, and throw it on him when he opens the door. (Don't do this if he is violent, and if he is violent, you have a lot more problems than you realize.)

I would trust my husband and throw it away...
but that is because I trust my husband and also because I know he doesn't have time for an affair ;). If you know it isn't true, don't pay it any attention.
Working at home/husband issues - do you think(sm)

Do you think they are jealous because we work at home or that they somehow picture us at home having the day off every day and getting pad for it - so they wonder why the house isn't perfect, etc.?  Because I am constantly extremely busy between work and my kids and trying to get things done around the house but I think my husband thinks I should be able to get everything done since I am here.  I don't think he was as bad when I worked in an office.

Ok, I just asked my husband, and he doesn't do it anymore because it stopped working
He said that he kept e-mailing them to get a new scanner, but they never sent him one, and their customer support is horrible. He said that he finally stopped doing it a few months ago because he gave up on them.
Probably, but they should throw the
book at her. LOL. She will probably do a Naomi Campbell act when she had to do community service in New York City, getting all dressed up to enter the facility and coming out in her evening gown. That was pretty funny.

Or Paris if she gets community service she will probably dress and act like she did in the Simple Life, (I think that it what it was called) with Nicole Ritchie. See what happens when you have TOO much money. Probably never worked a day in her life.
No - don't throw your son under the bus!
Why would you purposely cause one family member to hate another? You need to acknowledge to your son that you understand his feelings, and you need to gently guide your husband to see the reality of his behavior, but don't tell him what your son innocently told you. Be a confident he can trust in this stressful world, and do what you need to to get your husband the help he needs.

I had a violent father, and my mother stood by and did nothing. It was just as clear to me as it is to your son that my father was mean and yelled too much (and was violent). Things family members said were always causing me to receive yet more unnecessary violence, and it was wrong of them.
what did you have to throw out after the
I had to throw out the Austin peanut butter crackers.  I heard there were around 1,800 items now on the list.
Throw them in the swamp.

KIDDING!  Our municipality runs a spring/fall cleanup and has designated dates/times where we can bring "hazardous" waste such as computers, monitors, cans of paint, etc.  I'd give your town office a buzz and I'm sure they can help you out with that.  Big business in recycling these things nowadays.  If they are still working, just maybe too old and slow for what you want them to do, consider donating to a senior center, church, or American Legion.

Why do men throw out our stuff and keep theirs?

Hubby did it again! I had to work a couple hours this morning and in the meantime, he decided to clean out the linen closet.

Things he kept: All his stuff, plus old towels that are good for rags.

Things he threw out: My shampoos, my curling irons, make-up, my electric shaver, etc. When I asked where they were, he burned them! My curling irons were brand new!

Is he trying to tell me something?

This is not the first time he's done something like that. I hate not being here when he gets a "whim" like this, but I never thought he'd throw out my good stuff.

then i just throw on a sweatshirt!! :)
actually who am i kidding, i dont EVER answer the door anyways... you know I never answer the door to strangers for real. Even if it's a kid selling magazines. You just never know... not unless my BF was home. plus i have two crazy non-behaved dogs that if i opened the door, not only would they take off, but they would jump on the person in the process.... I read all the responses and it's funny how some people mentioned being "clean"... now if im sweating at the gym every day or having sex every night it's one thing... but I dont normally get dirty after sitting at a comp all day!!! :) And even when I do get up and get ready, as soon as im done running errands or whatever it was i was out doing, i go right back into my comfy clothes. And the part about the DH not wanting to see a wife all frumpy... my BF loves me either way, and he sees me enough dressed way up (on the weekend nights we go out)... so no big deal around my parts! :)
Don't throw out those cards!
Christmas is over, please don't throw away your cards. If you don't already have plans, please consider sending them to the Pine Ridge Reservation. Children there recycle the cards to make cards for next year. They sell these to earn money. They only need the front of the cards - the picture part - and welcome any style (obviously not naughty cards). The address to send cards is:

Just throw in some spice-like Hot Sauce....BAM it!

it's' chicken, when in doubt, throw it out!!!

Toss it........chicken needs to be refrigerated after cooking and leaving it all night in the oven is not a good thing, I have done it myself and thrown the chicken out.

When in doubt, throw it out!

I made one of the throw blankets like this
for pretty much all of my relatives last Christmas. It has been the single most rewarding gift I have ever given. My mom used hers a lot but, during her brief fight with lung cancer, she had a hard time staying warm and she wanted my cover with her ALL (I mean literally ALL) the time. She had it right up until the minute she died. Of whatever I might inherit from her, I already know that I'm getting that blanket back, and there is no material thing on this earth at this time that I will treasure more.

On a more cheerful note, ALL of the relatives loved them and use them frequently to curl up and watch TV or whatever.
In line with afgan or throw, maybe one

She's sooo young to throw her dignity away.
How can she not realize she has her whole life ahead of her with no way to take her weirdness back.
Could still be a ruse, to throw her off guard. Had an ex-SIL who wheedled

I agree, throw out. Probably teeming with bacteria.
Either that or heat it up and feed it to the dumb-dumb who turned it off and didn't put the leftovers away properly. LOL.
this is a throw back to my college days
Morning Thunder is loaded with caffeine!  Good for all nighters!
Don't throw me down, Clark. I won't, Aunt Bethany

Geezus, you couldn't hear a dump truck driving through a nitroglycerin plant.

Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?

(Christmas Vacation)

throw a blanket or towel over it and then shuffle it out nm

Hubby said they throw lips and noses in there!

Don't know if he was kidding, but lost my appetite. Would love to see Spamalot, love Ben Gazzara, he was in it in NY.

"Bring out your Dead." "But I'm not dead yet!" "Shut up, stop being a baby!!" Something like that. Too funny. Crazy is good these days.

If only they would throw a sweater over skanky clothing
so the rest of us don't have to look at them trying to sell themselves. Blech.
But wait! Act now and I will throw in one for free! Check or M.O. accepted. nm

It isn't uncommon for the loved ones to throw some dirt on the grave. sm
I didn't see it though so am not sure if this is the type of thing you are talking about or not.  In my husband's family the men actually stay and cover the grave using shovels, but it is a different culture than what we are used to in the US, he and his father covered his grandfather's grave and my husband covered our son's grave.    Not sure about 'walking' on the grave though... that seems disrespectful... but again, I didn't see so don't know.
Troops in Iraq throw a puppy off of a cliff.

Marine Corps Base Hawaii is investigating a shocking video of a smiling Marine throwing a puppy off the top of a steep hillside in Iraq into a gully below.

The video today gained widespread attention and condemnation on the Internet.

"The video is shocking and deplorable and is contrary to the high standards we expect of every Marine," the Kane'ohe Bay base said in a release.

Base officials said the video came to their attention this morning. An investigation has been initiated. Maj. Chris Perrine, a Marine spokesman here, said "it's looking like" the Marine is based out of Hawai'i.

"We do not tolerate this type of behavior and will take appropriate action," the base said.

Two Marines are seen in combat gear smiling as one holds a white-and-black puppy by the scruff of its neck. The dog seems to be about 8 weeks old and is motionless as it is held.

"Cute little puppy, huh?" says one Marine as he smiles broadly.

"Oh so cute, so cute, little puppy," says another in a child-like voice.

The Marine holding the puppy is then seen throwing the animal overhand into a desert-like gully below. The animal yelps until it thuds to the ground at the bottom of the gully.

"That's mean," one Marine says afterward.

The 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment of about 1,000 Hawai'i Marines recently replaced a sister unit in Iraq, the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment.

Marine Corps Base Hawai'i said the vast majority of Marines "conduct their duties in an honorable manner that brings great credit upon the Marine Corps and the United States."

There have been numerous stories of Marines adopting pets and bringing them home from Iraq or helping to arrange life-saving medical care for Iraqi children. Those are the stories that exemplify what we stand for and how most Marines behave."

(Safe for work because it's blurry, but still very disturbing)

Some people have claimed it's possible the video is fake, but it doesn't seem likely.

Really, really sick.

This kind of twisted lack of humanity seems to stem partially from the brutal brainwashing soldiers go through in bootcamp, combined with the severe emotional stress of the field.

Whoever those guys are, I hope they're both discharged immediately, but I also hope they receive serious emotional help.

the increased mucus could be causing him to throw up. but with the fever... ???
I would give it 2 days. if the fever persists he needs to be seen. could be a number of different things. there are many different types of flu's.. so its hard to say.
And don't throw her a ball, because if she misses and it hits her guns, they may blow!
LOL
I would not let my coworkers throw a baby shower BEFORE the birth of my daughter...
because both of my sons were born unexpectedly 2-3 days before their baby showers were planned. We had the baby shower 3 weeks after she was born.

(Was kind of embarrassed also to have a baby shower for the 3rd child anyway, but it was more gracious to allow them to throw one.)
Could be strep - makes my children throw up, sometimes no sore throat(nm)

Work in short bursts. Get up and do some exercise, even jumping jacks. Throw some wash in. Stay

Does your husband or significant other do this? Just now, at 7:30, my husband came home from sm

playing sports with a friend.  After showering he comes downstairs naked and tries to start a conversation with me. My "office" is in the living room and he is standing in back of the couch so I can't see any private parts, just him without his shirt, but I can see enough to know he clearly is naked! I think he wants me to be amused or get turned on or something, but I'm not amused one bit. In fact, I keep working and basically ignore him.

Poor guy. I swear he thinks he's Vince Vaughn or something. I should at least smile at him but all I want to tell him is to put some clothes on! ugh!

So sorry about your working but
I was asked if I would, my regular day off but since no small kids and celebrating later in the day anyway, really made no difference this morning. Am also not employee so could have turned them down but I realized years ago that with children you want to be able to spend Christmas morning with them so think most of the time I was off. I read on these posts supposedly you make your own hours not being an employee, right?
Working??
And just what exactly is it that you are doing, if you don't mind my asking??? Ever hear of the saying, "the pot calling the kettle black"?
working out
Don't worry so much about what the scale says but go by how your clothes fit.  I've worked out most of my adult life and threw my scale away.  I weigh myself once per week at the gym.  If you continue your working out as you describe, you will find that you will weigh more than you think you should, but you will fit into a smaller size.  For ex, I'm 5ƈ".  In my head I would think my ideal weight should be about 125 but have found my ideal work-out weight is 142 which puts me in a size 10...which is ok with me.  Good luck!
Who's working anyway?

The population of this country is 300 million.

160 million are retired.
That leaves 140 million to do the work.

There are 85 million in school.
Which leaves 55 million to do the work.

Of this there are 35 million employed by the federal government.
Leaving 15 million to do the work.

2.8 million are in the armed forces preoccupied with killing Osama Bin-Laden.
Which leaves 12.2 million to do the work.

Take from that total the 10.8 million people who work! for state and city governments.
And that leaves 1.4 million to do the work.

At any given time there are 188,000 people in hospitals.
Leaving 1,212,000 to do the work.

Now, there are 1,211,998 people in prisons.
That leaves just two people to do the work.

You and me.
And there you are,
sitting at your computer, reading jokes.
Nice. Real nice.

Have fun - I''m working......nm
LOL
another working here too
going to fireworks tonight though and to a free movie in the morning...getting up early to work, cookout...swim...happy 4th and GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
Is it only when you are working?
Or does it happen other times? My daughter's friend has some weird thing where she cannot drive because she starts to fall asleep, but it only happens when she is driving. Or maybe your job has just gotten too boring! LOL.
You might be working too much
When you exercise, they always have you alternate days between aerobics and strength training because the muscles you use need a rest between uses. Without the proper rest between, you're not allowing the muscles to recover, which leads to chronic overuse and ultimately, pain.

Ha, just working. I am used
to every time I get up to get a drink or go to the bathromo, I always light a cigarette. That's the part I'm really fighting, but haven't given in. I really have to quit; tired of coughing all night long! Have been smoking for about 25 years adn figure it's way past time!
what's working for me

My biggest problem is that the strands of my hair are very, very fine.  Had a hair stylist tell me that was caused by hollow follicles and poor diet.  (well, I KNOW I eat awful but am trying to at least get in more water and less caffeine now).  I have no idea if she's right or not about the hollow follicle thing, but -- I went to Sally Beauty and found Folicure vitamins for hair.  I'm sure there are plenty of other brands out there.  I figured if it was a root problem it might take a while to see a difference (my hair is about 2 inches past my shoulders).  I have been taking the vitamins for a little over 2 months.  Hair is not thicker yet but seems stronger and healthier in appearance.

I also suffer from dry, brittle, frizzy hair - especially in winter.  The wonderfully helpful lady at Sally Beauty also recommended several months ago Excelsior's Millennia Mudd.  You use it after shampooing instead of conditioner, let it sit for several minutes, and then rinse out.  It has DRASTICALLY improved my hair.  I used it every day (she said this was safe to do) for a couple weeks and really noticed a difference.  Once I felt my hair was improving I cut back to 3-4 times a week now.  It has eliminated my split ends and makes my hair feel incredibly soft.

Lastly, the same hair stylist gave me this recommendation - of course, she was trying to sell me the pricy salon product but I said no and went to Walmart for a product that fit my budget better.  She said to apply a thick, creamy, leave-in conditioner on the "ends" - meaning about half the length of my hair.  Not to the roots as then it would look oily or greasy.  This you leave in and do not rinse out.  I have been using Nexxus Humectress Ultimate Moisturizing Conditioner.  Now, my hair is also naturally curly so if I brush my hair out after drying it still fluffs up considerably (kids say I'm a poodle) BUT, it is not brittle feeling and it not breaking off when I try to comb it.  (I got a free sample of Fruictese -- sp?? -- version of leave-in cream conditioner - it fells kinda sticky or tacky or something.  Did not like it as well.)

Sorry, that was a little long-winded.  This combination seems to be working well for me.  Hope it helps you too.

um, then why are you working and he is not?
and why so many cruises, they are disgusting, food poisoning, people germs, body odor all crammed together, and someone thinks it's fun.
What is working for me
Sorry to butt in, just thought I'd share what has been working for me. I have ankle/foot pain from a bad break, so walking a lot is difficult. So, I bought a recumbent stationary bike. I've been 'riding' that for about 30 minutes a day (started out at 5 and worked my way up). I've lost about 12 pounds since Thanksgiving and that's with all the holiday eating! Not sure if it will work for you because of your knee pain, but for me it's better than walking.
I have been working
a non-MT job for about 3 weeks now.

I decided after 5 years of MT that I was becoming very anti-social and depressed. I couldn't take being home alone all day long anymore, so I went to a staffing agency and asked what they could do for me.

I wanted a position in a hospital or doctor's office, but was so eager to get out that I told them I would take anything.

I am an administrative assistant now at a non-medical place of business and I LOVE it. When I look back on my days of feeling like a hermit, I almost cry. I have become a completely different person in a matter of weeks.

Good luck to you! It's amazing what a little socialization can do for the mind, body, and spirit.
working, working, working!
My stepson will not be with us for Christmas morning so we celebrated early. I will be working tonight and all day tomorrow. Kinda nice to be done with the shopping, etc. while everyone else is hustling and bustling for last minute things. We were invited to the in-laws for Christmas dinner tomorrow night and I was asked (yesterday) to bring sweet potatoes so I will be running to the store this afternoon to get those but that's it. Hubs and I may go see a movie tomorrow afternoon as a treat to ourselves.
Try working with her-
I myself got a very young kitten from my housekeeper and she is like the Tasmanian devil but I love her with a passion. Maybe you should have gotten an older cat if you wanted 1 like Garfield, 1 that sleeps and sorta stays out of the way. My kitten has just reached the age of spaying but she has been into everything here in the home. I have had to kitten proof everything- she gets up on everything from the living room table to end tables. I have bought scatmats that I have on my kitchen table and countertops. I have tried the water bottles, 2 sided tape, chicken wire on some tables to keep her off. She is a rascal but - I love her and know she will grow out of this and plan on keeping. My bedroom door stays closed when I am out of there to keep my cats out. I will work with my girl because just too many unwanted animals out there - I do not consider them throw aways. I would just say to keep the bedroom door shut. I have not found anything really that deters mine yet- I know 1 day she is going to be that beautiful grown up tabby and well past the kitten stage.
I'm working it -
I am currently working full time at home, which is not giving me much work, part time in a hospital, and going to school full time. I do not have time to add anything else and guess what - my bills are not getting paid!

I am a month behind on my rent and my check this time is a third of what I need to pay to just pay that one thing. I am behind on my power bill and because the unit was tore up last month and the company kept telling me it was not, I just got a $300 power bill for last month that I do not know how I am going to pay...

My husband is out of work due to a WC injury and barely gets enough money to pay anything besides buy some food and put gas in the car to make sure that I can get back and forth to work at that second job...

We have lost everything we had last summer, just started getting things back on track, and now this all hits again. I've done everything responsibly that I can do. The only thing left to let go is the vehicle, then how am I supposed to get to work?

And, by the way, that second job in house only pays me a third of what I make at home when there is work available, but I continue to go there because it is guaranteed hourly income and not production based.

I have no insurance. Have not been to the doctor in over 3 years (even though after my last serious GYN procedure, I was told that I had to have regular visits every 3 months).

Now what else exactly do you think I should do? There are no more hours left to do anything else!
working holidays.
I am working Thanksgiving, schedule just fell that way. As far as Christmas goes, I'm am also scheduled to work, didn't request it off, but I work 3rd shift. I did request to work Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve to have a couple of days off for my brother's wedding that is 12/30. Working holidays doesn't bother me too much since I'm 3rd shift, but I could see how it would be a pain for those who are required to work and work days or 2nd.
I'm working, not by force sm
I always work Thanksgiving and Christmas (if there is work).  I also work the 3rd shift which makes it easier for me to do.  I love the holiday pay!
working holidays
I'm right there with ya! Love that holiday pay! lol
