It is in the pad or the sheetrock

If it is near a wall, it he/she could have sprayed and hit the wall and it was absorbed there.  Also, it is probably absorbed into the pad which is almost impossible to get out completely.  I thought I had when I tore out my bedroom carpet and boy was the pad horrible.   If you can peel the carpet back and somehow spray the pad underneath that might help.  Just remember if you need to get it out of the pad you need to soak the carpet well enough that it goes into the pad where the urine is.   It is especially bad when the sun shines through the window and it hits the carpet and is warm -- whoo does it smell then.  Good luck.
