there is new technology out now, with self-ligating braces (Damon) that work much more quickly and are much smaller, than the ones worn years ago. Normally I would be looking well over two years in conventional braces. With the Damons I am looking at slightly over a year. If you are considering doing this, but don't want to be in them forever, you might consider Damons. They are also much less painful than conventional. I have had them for a week and I swear already I have seen slight movement of my top front teeth. I do, however, just feel a bit goofy because I never see any adults with braces - just me!! After seeing all the after photos of the people who had Damons, though, I know I'm doing the right thing...
