Little singer at opening ceremony. sm

In Reply to: Olympics - Female Chinese gymnasts - Do you think they were all 16 or turning 16? - mtmt

I thought it was very obvious that there were several not 16.  It has to be harder to be in puberty, developed, to flip around like they do.

In addition to that, Brian Williams did a story about the Chinese little girl that sang in the opening ceremony.  She was lip synching - the real little girl that was singing was not "physically pleasing" enough to get the credit for singing.  I think she was actually singing live too and held backstage or in the background.

Ceremony was fine...
I just thought maybe something interesting would pop up.  Just nothing exciting, in my opinion.....
I thught it was a really good ceremony.
Just my opinion.

THE WEDDDING SINGER!!
Also love Independence Day, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, and Apollo 13.
Opening gifts
I don't have kids, but when the nieces and nephews on one side open gifts, it is this chaotic scramble, everybody opening at once. That's not how we did it when I was a kid, or on my side of the family today, and I really feel it cheapens it. I don't get to see these kids often, and it would be so enjoyable to have each one open a gift with the rest of us looking on, to see the reaction, talk about the gift, hear the thank-you at the time the gift is received so they comprehend who gave them what. Otherwise, what's the point? Might as well just bring in a dump truck and dump a bunch of stuff on them. I want interaction, not noise.

Is that so wrong?
It is a Singer 1120
I asked for a simple machine without a lot of bells and whistles so it wouldnt be complicated. That SO doesn't make it non-complicated!!!! I keep thinking im doing something wrong with the bobbin as the thread seems to keep getting really goofed up in that area, but I cannot seem to figure out what the problem is.
I think that Adam is by far the better singer
Yesterday he was screeching only 1 song.
The 1st song, Bad World, was quite mellow.

Great voice !
Adam deserves to be the winner.

Who watched 'Dancing with the Stars?'

I think Gilles should have gotten the crystal ball.

Shawn? Nah !
I heard Kohl's opening 4 a.m. too. No thanks.

The Wedding Singer or if you need inspiration (sm)
Blue Crush is a kind of a "Females can do anything" kind of movie, but it depends on your taste in movies.
And if you open it up for her to teach them her way, then you are opening it up to all (sm)
That means people who are homophobic or racist can also teach children their point of view? There has to be a line drawn somewhere.
the overstated usefulness of opening up
Leave this poor kid alone!
I would absolutely be humiliated if I was your kid being recommended medicine for not talking to some country school counselor about my public vomiting.

Not using the entire bottle of something and just opening full ones! SM
I have quite a collection of shampoo bottles with about 3/4 inch in the bottom!! Makes me mad at myself!
I agree, and is also jazzy/blusey singer...sm
and her album is terrific!
I started tearing up at the opening credits!
I love this show. I know it's time for it to go, but it's always been one of my favorites.
Right title, wrong singer - its Craig Morgan!!

Shelly, it is ok. But when you start a thread like that you are opening yourself up to disagreement
And as a fellow Christian, I cannot just sit by and watch what I think is a misrepresentation of the faith without stating my point of view.  You certainly can believe whatever you choose to believe, but as long as you are posting it in a public forum and presenting yourself as someone who represents my faith as well, I will respond when I disagree, not to give you a hard time, but to represent my faith as I think it should be as well.
