They would accept me, I just don't want to be accepted.
My husband is an only child and his mother takes overbearing, belittling and smothering to a whole new level. She would be more than happy to love, fuss and dote all over me, but I absolutely cannot tolerate the woman.
Sadly, my husband feels the same. He loves his mother, but she emotionally crushes him at the same time. He is working on his master's degree right now, and when he finishes, we plan to move far away from here.
