My mom went through this when she

was in her 30s.  I don't recall the reason why it happened, but she had to go for shots in her scalp.  It restored her hair and she didn't have any problems after that.

Personally, I haven't had that problem, but I visited an herbal shop recently for some other issues of PMS and found a supplement that helps with PMS as well as hair thinning.  They also have a supplement just for hair and nails.  I don't know if it will work in your case, but if you're interested I've posted the website below.
