Customer service in outer space
I made a service call on my freezer this morning and got a woman who could barely speak English, then had the nerve to tell me I had a bad phone because she could barely hear me - asked where she was and naturally that would be India.
Even higher bill w/3 cells & a land line, but sound quality & customer service are good.
s
I'm just curious. Do you wear makeup. I use makeup
to enhance what God gave me. Just curious.
Go To Nordstrom's and then.....
Get fit for the right size - I wear a LeMystere (underwire, but the best support I have ever had and not too uncomfortable #9955 or #995) and then I bid on these bras on ebay-I have won 6 auctions at less than 1/2 the price at Nordstrom's and these were all new with tags. I have had them for over 3 years and all are holding up great - I hand wash and hang to dry. Good luck - these are excellent bras. #9955 is a full support(coverage) bra and #995 is full support but lower cut so allows you to wear a lower cut top or dress.
No way! Just bought some fabulous stuff at Nordstrom, won't give it up!

That is exactly what my SO says. Someone will run into you if you dont move faster and I am already
going 10 miles over the speed limit.  I always say well why are they running up on top of me.  They should not be tailing right behind.  I just think men and women drive differently.
Depends on the dog, some train faster than others - sm
I have had a few huskies over the years and found they took longer to train. My last one trained really quickly, less than a month I think, but the key in her learning fast was we had 2 other housebroken dogs. My DH said dogs learn from each other, and will watch what the other does. Makes sense to me and she trained a lot faster than my previous husky. We got a puppy lab back in 02/2004. She too trained fast (2-3 weeks) as we had my old husky and another dog at the time, again I really think she learned from the other dogs. I would not use the pads at all though. I used to work at PetsMart years (PT to supplement my FT job) though they sell them, etc. it really is not adviseable having the pads. It teachs the dog to go inside basically, has a scent that is supposed to attract the dog to them thereby helping avoid accidents on your carpet/floor. You have to take the dog outside first thing in the morning, last thing at night, and probably every 2 hours during the day until she gets the idea that if she has to pee she needs to go outside to do so. Do not rely on her to tell you at this point. My dogs, male and female, both pee 100 x when walking (seems that way, probably more like 5-6x), like to spread that scent around. Maybe walk a bit slower, stand about some more and maybe she will figure out she needs to pee while standing still and not on the run. Keep it consistent. I know what a pain it is to do this, have done it 3 times myself so far and will be doing it again in a year as my DH promised my daughter she could get a dog when she is 10 (in a year).
LOL! I was told it made your hair shiny and grow faster!

I don't know anybody who sells Avon, but
I am remembering he likes Curves and he has only had it once.
daughter sells it
My daughter sells it and she says it is great too - I will have to try it. .
Do you have a store that sells the little

discs of chocolate to melt that are more for candymaking?  These work the best as the parafin is already in the candy, so they set better.  You could try also anywhere that sells supplies for baking cakes to see if they have the candy-making chocolate discs.

Also, you may want to let the peanut butter balls sit before coating, as I think it has something to do with the oil in the peanut butter.  Let them sit to "dry" before coating with any type of chocolate.

Candies that are homemade should be stored in tins with wax paper in a cool dry place and not necessarily in the refrigerator.  If you do store in the refrigerator make sure the container is air tight as the chocolate will pick up the flavors of other things in your refrigerator, i.e., onions...

My mother made homemade candies; all types!  RIP:  Mom; we'll miss your candies again this year...

Aveda sells a product
to use in between washings to revive your hair without putting more products in.  other brands have these also.  another one I know is Nioxen that I liked pretty well. Have you ever tried a mild astringent.  Going close to the hairline helps keep oil off the face.  Good luck!
my shipping is free - you must have
found a different web site - it varies a bit with suppliers.  mine is healthysuccessonline.  If mac and cheese is not palatable (NS - was totally disgusting - I had to spit it out! breakfast is powdered eggs -gag!) and you have to throw things out, it isn't very cheap.
What type of shipping?
If the person ships it media mail for the book, it will take up to three weeks for you to receive it. Regardless, one week is not really long enough to file a complaint or start contacting the person. I have been doing business on ebay, buying and selling once in a while, and I know you cannot expect your items so soon...especially around Christmas.
Customer always right

I will tell you this, when my daughter gets these people on the phone, they never forget her.  She nearly has them in tears by the time she is finished with them.  She is polite and nice at the beginning, but when they start giving her the run aruond, she goes to work on them.  She always gets action.  If I have to deal with anyone over the phone, guess who takes over?

My stepson sells marijuana for a living. SM
Last year, he and his girlfriend spent several hundred dollars on gifts for other members of the family. No, I did not want any gift obtained from illegal gains. I honestly don't know how I feel about it.

Stepdaughter makes $62,000 a year as legal assistant. No, not to SS! LOL! She does not have a dime to her name and asks her father for yearly Christmas cash. It makes him sad, because he would really love to buy her a nice gift.

So if you want to attack me as being "bad stepmom" and believe me, I know what that is like since I had one myself, go ahead.

I will take advice about gift cards. Wise choice.
Shipping reminders - see inside
What I learned when my husband was over there as a contractor:
1. Size does matter! Several smaller boxes will tend to arrive much faster than 1 huge, heavy box. Mail is usually the last things to be put on the planes, especially to the more remote sites, and smaller boxes are much easier to fit on the planes.
2. Do not send alcohol in any form, not even in candy. Also, do not mail in a box that is alcohol related.
3. Place enough clear tape over the address to cover it. That way, if it rains and the label gets wet, it will still be able to be delivered.

Happy mailing to all who want to send good cheer to the desert this holiday season! :-)
r u shipping it or delivering it in person?
some suggestions can't be shipped.
The 5 Millionth Customer

Two guys are in line at the grocery store. Man A lets Man B cut in front of him, when Man B said he was late for work. When Man B got to the register, he found out he'd won a $500 prize for being their 5 millionth customer. Had Man A not been generous, he would have won the prize money.

If this happened to you, would you share the money with Man A, or would you say "Sorry about your luck, you didn't have to let me cut in front."

(This was a set-up to see how customers would react.)

Dear Customer,
If I am asking for information, it is because I need it. You should thank me for checking your id. I don't care if nobody else asks or if you have spent thousands of dollars in this store. I don't care if it is a business check, I need to know who presented it! When you yell at me and turn all red, all I can think is that you will stroke out right in front of me, and I'm not going to want to help resuscitate you.
Customer: As long as you are NOT
one of those really creepy ones who says absolutely nothing but filthy pickup lines and makes me hesitant to walk to my car alone at night, I'll be happy to chit-chat and smile. :)
I'm a Charter customer. sm
Service has been fine. Make sure you keep their 1-800 number in your phone book because if you need to call them, that is the only way you can reach them. Also, usually they have an automated customer service to begin with before you get an actual person. It will tell you to turn off your computer, unplug your modem and router (if you have a router), wait a minute and plug everything back in and turn your computer back on. If you've already done this, I just keep hitting 0 (the zero button) on the telephone, and then you will get a real person. Once you talk to someone, they are usually able to fix the problem. If they don't, they'll schedule an appointment. However, 9 times out of 10, after I've waited an hour or 2, usually the internet is back up, and then I call them back to cancel the appointment. All in all, I have been very happy with them and have not had any down time in a long time (knock on wood).
I never mind the extra for shipping, have you seen those stores?!? lol
I do very little shopping at the big stores, NEVER during a sale, and most I do on line every year. I will sometimes even shop from home other times throughout the year when there are big sales, because many stores have the sales on line too, and if you have a credit card they will email you a notice and sometimes even offer free shipping or other deals. To me, it's just not worth going out and dealing with all that madness, it's too stressful and who needs that. Not me :)

If you know anyone that sells Avon, the new Driven by Derek Jeter is real nice.

Find a local beekeeper who sells honey. I know, sounds crazy. but sm
here in our town of 200,000, a local beekeeper sells honey from the local bees where people with severe allergies will go and buy a bottle, eat 2 tablespoons a day for a few days and SWEARS by this method.

This is the only natural cure I have seen that actually works. The bees pollinate the stuff you are allergic to and then you eat their honey....and then you become immunue to the allergens in the air and it works.
I was a grocery checker and he was my Sunday customer (kinda long)..

I would only see him on Sundays, usually every other, and I would look for him when I was on my breaks or lunch. Our offices and breakroom were upstairs with large picture windows and you could see most of the store. If I would see him wandering the aisles I would run down and open my checkstand for him. He came through my line one time and we made small chit chat. I asked him about a current event that was going on in our state that was pretty big news and he knew nothing about it; he had been on a 2 week business trip and hadn't heard the news. He then told me he was going sturgeon fishing for a couple of days; I acted interested and the next time he came through my line he brought me some smoked sturgeon. I hate fish, but of course took it anyway, thanked him profusely, and gave it to a neighbor (and my cats!). From then on for about 2 months I would see him every other Sunday. I scoped out what he bought, and determined he wasn't married (you can tell a lot about a person by what they grocery shop for).

Then, one day when I got off work, I had to do some grocery shopping. I was talking to a customer of mine in the produce section when all of a sudden here comes Mr. Sunday, who happened to work with the customer I was chatting with. Mr. Sunday said hi to me, general chit chat, and our mutual friend said that Mr. Sunday was a great guy, we looked cute together, maybe he should ask me out. Awkward moment, much laughter, customer leaves. Mr. Sunday and I are standing by the magos (he loves them, I hate them), he picks one out, asks me if I like them, I say yes (have lied twice now about food), grab one and buy it. My teenage daughter asked me when I got home what I was going to do with it and I said I didn't know; the neighbor got the mango too.

Finally, after not seeing Mr. Sunday for 2 weeks, I was gettng ready to go home on a weekday when all of a sudden who should come in but him. We literally bumped into each other. He asked me if I got the messages he left at the store for me. I told him no. He then looked at my nametag and said, "No wonder you didn't get the message, I thought your nametag said Sandra." Not my name....Apparently he called and left 3 messages for Sandra. They told him no one by that name worked there, hence I never got the messages. He gave me his phone number, told me to call him when I was free for lunch, and the rest is history. I found out he only came in on Sunday because he lived rurally, came in to go to church, only had to shop every other week because he was single (actually newly divorced). He worked in town but did 12-hour shifts, so if he came into the store at all to shop I was already off work by the time he came in.

Ten years later, he has since learned that I hate fish and mangos and what my REAL name is. We have an absolutely wonderful marriage, he makes me laugh every day, and he is a wonderful man. All because of the grocery store.

This is me and my makeup
No mtter how much money I have or have had, I always feel like I am almost in the soup line. I have worked since I was in high school. I never wanted to be on welfare and I guess this accounts for my work ethics. If I were to win a lottery now I doubt that I could give my job up - lot of people do not understand this but this is just how I feel. I always have the mentality of not having enough money although realistically this is not the case- just my feelings. I would think it is sorta like how an anorexic person is- they are skin and bones yet think they are fat? I have enough money but since in school just think I need to always work and make more.
Prescriptives makeup
Does anyone use this makeup?  If so, what is your opinion?  Thanks!
He has darkened them with makeup
that's why they look so odd.
mineral makeup
Just wanted those of you who were interested awhile ago (back in early November??) that Mary Kay's new line of mineral make-up foundation is now available!!!  I tried it and it is GREAT!!
The older you are, the lighter the makeup. SM
That Bare Ecentials brand is good. Looks natural, but covers flaws.

I'm using Sally Hansen Spray Makeup. Use a moisturizer first, then spray makeup on sponge. Cover with some light powder and some blush. Really light eyeshadows, since I have circles around eyes. If needed, some eyeliner (not black) and mascara.

Pre-teens and makeup question. sm
My DD just turned 13 and I have agreed to allow her to wear basic makeup now.  However, she is not applying it appropriately to where I think it looks decent.  I am not a big makeup person and all the teens are into this glitter stuff at that.  I would like to take her somewhere to really teach her how to apply makeup, select her colors, etc.  Does anyone know of a place that does this type of thing and any good recommendations that would help?
Of course it is!!! Makeup is for helping people
nm
Ladies, how did you learn to apply makeup?
How have you changed the way you wear makeup as you have aged? What do you wear and tell me how you apply it? I've never worn makeup except for awhile in high school and I'm thinking that I'm needing some color in my face now that I've aged (what a horrid word that is!!). The thing is, I know NOTHING about it. Tell me everything I need to know so I won't end up looking like a clown!! PLEASE.
I just ordered Bare Minerals makeup.
I've got very uneven skin tones, red blotches, etc. and hope this will help.  The money back guarantee sounded good.  I see Cover Girl, Maybelline and others are now using the same concept.  Any info, thoughts or suggestions?  TIA
I use the Virtual Matte Oil Control makeup. It's kind

of expensive, but I don't get a rash or any breakouts using it. It's about 30 bucks.

I just have to brag on this mineral makeup stuff. I bought some from sm

Ulta a few weeks ago - it's the Ulta Brand - cheaper than Bare Minerals. It was around 35.00 for the kit. I think it's called Pure. I got blush medium. LOVE IT!

Right now you can try for free Purity Mineral Science for 7.95 shipping. You get 3 brushes, a gorgeous little bag and 3 products that go together and 3 cosmetic brushes - 2 big ones, 1 small one for concealing.

I ordered it Fri and it came today.  Anyways, of course I LOVE IT.  But on the piece of paper it stated in small letters: If you decide to keep this kit we will bill you 59.00 and then every 2 months you will receive another set of makeup at a low, low cost of 29.99 every 2 months.  Which is an automatic refill kind of thing. I've never done that and I don't like that,so I called to cancel my trial and to see how much it would cost to keep this lovely kit.  She said 35.00 allows me to keep the kit and cancel all future memberships, no charges, etc. I am THRILLED!

I have to tell you - I immediately put the makeup on when I got it at 1:00 EST. It is now 4:56 and I still look fresh as ever! I can't believe it. I LOVE it.  I love, love, love it.

I have been a Mary Kay user for about 14 years. I love the coverage MK gives, and this gives awesome coverage too!

anyways, husband just called rip roaring mad while I was typing this and he really piss** me off, so I will end this "nice" conversation I was having with ya'll.  Just go try some if you've ever been wondering about this stuff.

Makeup question - mascara for sensitive eyes

I don't wear makeup every day, but I do on the rare occasion that I go out.  It seems like my mascara has been really irritating my eyes lately when I wear it.  I've tried a couple different brands, but they all seem to do it.  My eyes get dry and itchy and I've been getting little annoying styes.  Can anyone with sensitive eyes or contacts recommend a mascara that doesn't irritate your eyes?  Thanks!!

I like Bare Minerals makeup and Arbonne skin care
I don't like to look like I have makeup on and the Bare Minerals helps me accomplish that. The Arbonne skin care is pricey, but to me well worth it - I took a year break from it and went back! I absolutely love the Sephora website!
I take a shower before I start work and put on makeup but just wear comfy clothes...
I don't get dressed up or anything...maybe taking a shower before you start working would make you feel better...I can't work if I feel dirty--lol
Good nite! Kelly Pickler equals big boob job, too much makeup, whacked off hair!

thank YOU for your service!
No matter what branch, age, sex, etc., the entire military has my utmost respect.  I only hope they know how many of us get a lump in our throats whenever we thank them on the street OR watching something as moving as this.  I know I'll never forget!
met in the service
Met in the service overseas. Dated a short while then went to Denmark to get married. Lots of soldiers were getting married this way. In Denmark there were 8 other military couples with us getting married. DH and I knew each other not very long. It's been 32 years this year.
I do not tip if it is self-service.

You mean own your own MT service?
If so, yes, there is a book. My friend has it. I will have to get the name of it from her.
They can refuse service to anyone at will.
Even Wal-Mart can throw you out for any reason they want.

I'm glad he did it. I went to Jeff Ruby's Louisville website and sent him a support e-mail!

Thank goodness business owners can still decide WHO they want to serve and do business with!!!!
