Friend non MT - had chest pain
has a lot going on in her life that is not good - went to ER - everything was okay but they told her they want to do a stress test - she called me and said "I don't need a test - I know I am under a lot of stress!"  Thought that was cute.  Apparently if they explained it to her in the ER she was on morphine and Phenergan and didn't understand.
Chest pain relieved by Nitro
I received a phone call from my brother last night.  He sounded really bad.  He told me that he had been admitted to the hospital because he had chest pain that went to the back of his shoulder blades and down his left arm.  This has been happening for 3 weeks.  He did got to his PCP and he did an  EKG and he did not like what he saw (bro did not any specifics) and they were going to do a stress test on 08/07.  Well, since this episode, they are going to go ahead and do the stress test tomorrow, which is actually today.  Anyway, they were telling me that his enzymes were doing fine so far.  They said that since his chest pain was relieved by Nitro they are sure it is heart-related, maybe a clogged artery.  I never heard of chest pain being relieved by Nitro having any diagnostic value.  Bro is 36 years old, not too overweight but a little overweight.  He does not smoke.  He does drink occasionally but I am not sure who much though as I have never seen him drunk nor do I see him with a beer can in his hands regularly.  He has, however, had a highly stressful life.  Bro was telling me that on the phone, part of it is his doing some of it is not.  I remember with he called 2 weeks ago telling me they suspect things going on with his heart, mom and I thought it was anxiety.  It maybe more serious.  I am worried.  I cannot believe my brother is going through this so young.
My daughter is 35 years old and has been having pain in left lower abdomen for quite some time . . .

She had a CT with oral and IV contrast and it was normal, but showed she had an enlarged uterus.  Dr. called the next day and said she needs to go for ultrasound.

There is lots of cancer in the family, so my daughter is very concerned.  Can any of you who have experienced this help out here.  Thanks.

My doctor referred me to
a behaviorist type psychologist who offered biofeedback training. It was great for me. I had no idea what my muscles were doing to me.
more on the perp - teacher referred him to

this was one very disturbed young man...

There are reports tonight that a Virginia Tech professor was so disturbed by a work of fiction written by suspected shooter Cho Seung-Hui, she recommended he get counseling.

The website, thesmokinggun.com, is featuring a play written by Cho Seung-Hui. It involves a chainsaw, profane language, and ends with a deadly blow to a teenage boy.

In it, the boy accuses the stepfather of murdering his dad. In one part, the 13-year-old character repeats how much he hates his stepfather and rambles on how he needs to kill him.

Classmates say that on the first day of a British literature class last year, students took turns introducing themselves. When it was Cho Seung-Hui's turn to speak, he said nothing.

The professor then looked at the sign-in sheet, and noticed that Cho had written a question mark instead of his name.

The professor asked, "Is your name 'Question mark?"' A classmate, Julie Poole, says Cho offered little response.

She says he then spent much of the class sitting in the back of the room, wearing a hat and seldom participating.

Poole says, "We just really knew him as the question mark kid."

When 2 cars ride side by side on the interstate...sm
and block traffic so nobody can pass. I will get irate over this. I don't know where people's brains are.
that would be on chest of course
but only thing I could think of that sounded like inch
What does the Chest x-ray say
the findings are? Can't guess with the full radiology report...then you still can't "guess", unless we are playing a game "Who can properly diagnose the patient?" LOL That could be a fun game.
pain and not wanting pain is understandable cuz of medical reason
I mean come on, when he has pain somewhere, does he not want to do something? Seriously, is this a true medical pain problem? If it is, then anyone could understand.
How about a hope chest?
My sister-in-law had a fiance who was really into woodworking. He built and carved a beautiful hope chest/blanket box for her and even placed the engagement ring in it. As I recall, he carved some of her favorite flowers, and even carved in scenes from some of their favorite places, and of course, their intertwined initials. It was really lovely.
Defrosting chest freezer
Anyone have any quick fixes for defrosting a chest freezer, this is the first time I have had one and the frost is starting to build up, is full so is there a way to take everything out and defrost it quickly, without turning it off and letting it AL melt itself?  Thanks in advance.
Does your dentist grope your chest?

Woodland, CA — The attorney for a Woodland dentist told jurors that his client massaged women's chests as part of a medical treatment.

Defense attorney Michael Rothschild told the six-man, six-woman Yolo County jury that Mark Anderson was treating his female clients for temporomandibular disorder, or TMD. The attorney says the condition affects the muscles of the upper body.

Anderson faces 19 felony charges for skin-to-skin contact and one misdemeanor for touching a patient's breasts over her clothing. The incidents occurred between February 2005 and his arrest in August 2007 and brought complaints from 14 women.

One of the initial 20 felonies was dropped Monday as Rothschild and Deputy District Attorney Robert Gorman began closing arguments.

Closing arguments were to continue Tuesday before the case was to go to the jury.

Sorry...should be paint store not pain (maybe pain...hehe)

There's one side, the other side, and the truth
And boy is it true.

I will say you sound like my aunt, who never speaks up, gets walked all over and then cries about it later.

Her kids/grandkids have no idea why she is always depressed, they think nothing of doing whatever they want without regard for her because she hasn't expressed an interest or opinion on anything and they don't know any better.

Yes, they use her. Yes, they could do things for her, but she never asks anything or says anything, so they don't press it, because it's always been that way. And she's a martyr, so it'd upset her pattern if things actually changed.

And the truth (and maybe reconciliation) lies in the middle somewhere.

Sad.
You both need top-zipped purses with long straps to sling diagonally over your chest

Yay! Give him a high-5 or chest bump (whatever young people do these days) for me..nm

There is teacher's side of story, kid's side of story

Not left to me, just trying to add some help (sm)
He does got to an ESL program regularly at school, but his teacher (and I agree) feels he needs more help. She is questioning whether there may be a learning disability instead of just a language barrier and I am starting to wonder the same thing. I am not in charge of his learning in any way, but I really would love to help him if I can.

Buy a bag of frozen fries and put them in the oven on a cookie sheet or some minute rice - quick and easy. Do both, have fun!
from the other side...
My MIL said that she thought I should have never had my first son while I was pregnant with my second and that I should probably abort him (her son and I were married at the time and I am and was 30). That hurts. I can imagine that she probably does not think that seeing the baby is a priority for someone who suggested she give it up. I know that she is 18 and stupid, but this is her child and try to put yourself in her place. I cannot allow my MIL to be alone with my children until they are older because I am afraid that she will put her difference with me ahead of their safety. When my son was 1, she allowed him to play with a fork (running around) and refused to move her vodka out of his reach just to spite me. What will she do if I am not around to watch her and them? I must put their safety ahead of her desires. That is just hte way it is. I am not saying that you would do any of these things, but keep in mind that she and your son will probably not work out, as they are so young, and she will have your grand child forever. Perhaps, you should try to create peace and apologize, even if you think that you are right.
Trying to look at it from the other side
Guys are funny creatures (and not in the ha-ha way). As women, I think somehow we learn that it's okay to talk about feelings. Guys, especially of a certain age, don't have that luxury, and a lot will use humor to 'hint' at something that is bothering them rather than come straight out and ask (heck, I even do it myself, especially if it's something that is really bothering me on an emotional level and I'm afraid of the answer!). It's possible that he feels badly about you paying his way...yes, we're independent women now, but you can't change thousands of years of hunter/gatherer instinct overnight. He probably wanted to hear how you responded to it...depending on whether you joked back, how you joked back, or whether you got angry, he may have thought he'd get an answer that told him how you were feeling about it without straight out confronting/asking you about it.

Never forget that men are just as insecure in relationships as women are; they're just better at masking it behind stupid comments!

A decision on this would not be left
up to me at all. This is not something I put my 2 cents in about. Their parents would be the ones to do this, that is unless the daughter/granddaughter is of age where she makes her own decisions. I have both but someone elses decisions, not mine.
no she's not further left than Rosie....
like most of the world.........*lol*
You left one out ----- NO tree.

Sounds like somebody was PO'd to be left - sm
at home. If we leave them inside we gate the dogs into our dining room and utility room (the 2 rooms are connected) so they have 2 rooms to hang in and nothing of any consequence if they decide to chew. Luckily they don't chew on furniture but will rip up what is handy within their reach sometimes. Leave lots of dog toys and give them some rawhides and a pig ear. We had a chewer in the past, she ate a couch (down to the frame).....ended up penning her in the bathroom during the day, hated to do it but it was the only way for her not the chew up the entire house, other than that she was a great dog.
I had a dog once that hated when I left and would eat anything he could get...sm
We put him in an old fashioned wire dog cage and he bent the door down on it and then ate through the wall and then on to my moms sofa, pillows, and rugs. Needless to say mom was not happy with me or Rambo! He was just a stray that got so attached to me he would get angry when I left him. Ended up taking him everywhere I could!!
So you all have left your husband over sm
the same situation? I just need to validate that it's okay for me to feel this way. This has come to a point where it is just ridciulous and he makes me feel like I am wrong for feeling this way or even telling him I can no longer live like this.
I have 3, one on my left biceps, one on
upper chest.  I got them all when I was young.
NO! I left mine at
the bridal shop until the day before the wedding even.
I'm so fired up left off, "I don't THINK its right! nm

Well he finally left....sm
He asked when my husband would be home and I said tonight and he left. He is staying somewhere else. He is getting an apartment next week 30 miles away from here he said so I am glad. I hate to say it but I am tired of babysitting. I got to where when he comes and won't leave I just stay in my office.
Left untreated
If nothing else, you would need to see your doctor to get a note for your employer. You would have to stay out of work for at least, the very least, a full week and it should be more. With mono, plenty of rest and staying away from other people is essential.
Left untreated??
It's a virus so there really is no treatment other than supportive, symptomatic care. It's not extremely contagious, as it's spread through saliva and mucus. A doctor or clinic can diagnose it with a Monospot test, and it should run its course in about 4 weeks.
Got any left?? YUMMMM

My younger left at almost 30 and
I hope they do fine and can maintain their own lives outside of mine. I love my own life, I travel quite a bit, do the things I want and to me the child rearing years not half as satisfying as my life is now.
Are you saying you left the dog or dogs
alone at a home, giving them food and water until their parents get back?
sounds as if ( ) DH/SO left her
for a much younger, prettier, 22-year-old. The joke reminds me of one of my favorite Country songs by Billy Ray Cyrus..."Where Am I Gonna Live?"
Where am I gonna live when I get home?
My old lady's thrown out everything I own.
She meant what she said
when she wished I was dead
So, where am I gonna live when I get home?

I knew our road was gettin kinda rocky
She said I was gettin way too cocky
She waited till I was gone
She packed from dusk till dawn
So where am I gonna live when I get home?

She decided she would keep my cat
My transportation, I wouldn't be needing that
She kept my TV
The bills, she gave to me
So, where am I gonna live when I get home?

What money left over?
The man died from what I am hearing insolvent (is that the correct spelling),anyway over $400 million in debt. Not good. They said probably would be worth more dead now than alive. The only reason supposedly he was trying a comeback was that he needed the money. He had, from what I heard, half of the Beatle's porfolio he had not sold and some other rights. By the time his estate pays off what he owes, might be the only thing left for the children would be the album, record sales and a setup like Elvis had. He had sold his Neverland home to pay off debts. The man was broke.
side note--sm
and don't forget to remove the neck and giblets in the bag inside the turkey prior to baking. I learned from experience. :^)
Ditto on that, I am an A on one side, AA on the other - sm
talk about fun! Either go without or those stretch ones since I don't need any support really except on the 1 side a little bit. There are more AAs out there now but 5-10 years ago other than shopping in the girl's department it was impossible!
tell her to get mac&cheese or another side--sm
she doesn't HAVE to eat mashed potatoes. Pizza gets tiring all the time. She may be nice, but she doesn't sound very flexible. Enjoy whatever you decide on. have fun!
Flip side--sm
I would just like to interject my own experience with getting dentures.

I had an immediate denture procedure, meaning the denture was made prior to the actual removing of the normal teeth and placed immediately after removal. When I first saw my denture in my mouth, I cried! It was way too big and I looked like Bugs Bunny! The dentist that made this denture then went on vacation and I had to wear this atrocious looking appliance for another month while a new one was being made. I had to go to work with this thing in my mouth and even at 42 years of age, I had to be the recipient of cruel joking from my coworkers. But I finally got my new, smaller denture and even though it looked better, it did not fit well. My gums shrunk quicker than normal and I had to have it relined within two months. (another expense). So with that horrible experience, I decided never to return to that dental group again, which I did not. I tolerated not being able to eat anything with more hardness than a peanut butter sandwich, or my denture would pop out. That meant no meat, no corn on the cob, no pickles, etc. I also had to deal with slippage while speaking, etc. Not every one has a good experience with dentures and if I had it all to do over again, I would NEVER NEVER have my own teeth removed for a pair of plastic useless torture appliances!

I have new dentures now, which I paid for on my own and even though they are 80 percent better than what I had previously, they are still not all that comfortable and they still have their problems with eating certain foods. I can eat steak and corn on the cob now, but no apples. Most of the time when I am at home, I do not wear them. They still hurt to wear for any length of time.

This has just been my experience and I just wanted to share it so that you can hear both sides. No matter how bad your own teeth may be, they can be fixed and be made very presentable. Once you have dentures, you can never go back. I would take my own natural teeth back in a heartbeat, if that was an option for me.

I wish you all the best of course, no matter what decision you make.
visit to the other side

I was at a bridge and on the other side I saw people sitting on lush lawn and playing in the water, lots of laughter, etc.  I was met by a spirit who said (telepathically) that I had things to do before I came in but that it was totally my decision to stay or return.  I chose to return.  That evening I told my doctor the whole story, from the moment the nurse told him I had passed to what they did to my body next and my experience on the other side.  Needless to say, he was speechless.  This was in 1964 and none of these experiences had been published yet.

Actually, my side is to the door. sm
Can't put the desk anywhere else but in this corner.
side effects
Does anyone know it the Hoodia causes any side effects or if it affects blood pressure?  I have both diabetes and hypertension and have to be careful what I take.  Should be extra diligent in what I eat, but if I was I wouldn't be asking about Hoodia, now would I?  Am really interested in learning about this.  Need to lose a LOT of weight for health reasons, as well as clothes shopping. TIA
Look at the bright side
You have a great story to tell - your child will enjoy hearing it when she/he gets older.  I laughed out loud when I read your post!
ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
Did you catch Gene Simmons' rectal examination and colonoscopy Tue night.  The KISS demon himself.  hahahaha
I have one on the right side of my lower
abdomen, only see it in swimsuit. Really wanted one on the back of my shoulder, but decided not to get one that would show when I was "dressed up." My ex told me I could NEVER have one, so when we divorced that is the first thing I did!!!!
that would be the dark side.
and I have moved on. this conversation is so over for me.
keep on the sunny side. I just want
to put my hands over my ears or slap her every time I hear it. Don't care for dreary phil collins, either, or at least I think it's phil collins - I can feel it coming on, oh lord.
