In Reply to: In keeping with the question down below about in-laws... - Do YOU accept YOUR in-laws?

Only my first, the MIL, did not really care for - the FIL deceased. Second liked the FIL, mother deceased. Loved the MIL from the third, father deceased. Fourth and final- MIL deceased, heard father not a very nice person- have never met but not hubby but hubby's family said probably would not care for him. In these 4 only had 2 living MILs that I met.

I like my father in law, hes a good guy. My hubby gets along well with my family. We are about 3k miles away from my inlaws PTL!!! She is very jealous of me because she always took advantage of my hubby and took his $$$. But, I am the one who steps up and says nope. She sold my hubbys car right after we got married underneath him and forged his name on the title and took 1,100.00, needless to say i borrowed money from her and kept talleys until it was paid off :-P. She thinks shes slick! the key word is THINKS! :-). But, over the years it is just okay. I think we avoid each other on many occasions. She does not even call our house, she calls my hubby's cell phone which is fine by me. If she calls my phone I let her leave a message and I call her back if its important and if not I tell hubby to call her.
Worry about your inlaws coming in..
sounds like you invite 1 and all.
We actually had a small family gathering at my inlaws
And we had take out. It was easier to do it that way and a lot more relaxing since they live in a small condo and didn't want to bother with a huge dinner.
Santa reality sets in sm
Think it's harder for the adults to accept than the parents, but kids love to squeeze the last they can out of Dear Old Santa. They know but will go along to get along. I would just play the same game by telling them you know someone who had a kid who spoiled Christmas for little kids by telling them there was no Santa. "What do you think of that?" They know, just have to work it out with them.
Our neighborhood sets a date each year for
a yardsale. The neighborhood is still growing, so we usually have a really great turn out. We haven't participated in a couple of years so believe me we have the "junk" to get rid of. I just wish we would do this at the beginning of summer for a little extra spending $ for vacation.
I love the wooden spoon sets, I think there's 3 different spoons in the set...
I also love the plain old metal vegetable peeler, for some reason it seems to work better than any I have ever had, I bought some for friends and family.
