Paneling

I can attest to that. My father died and left me land with a trailer on it that he and his wife lived in on the lake. I had my son and his father to paint the inside. It was dark as a tomb and what a difference it made! I bought just an off white egg shell type paint. Spruced it up and hope to sell the property ASAP - 6 acres and I don’t have room for it! Hah.

painting over paneling
Has anyone painted over paneling (mine is in the den and is about 30+  years old) and does it look good or should I just have the paneling taken out?  Need opinions and advice, thanks.
You absolutely can paint paneling, no problem
at all. I wiped down the walls with some cleanser type material as the person living there previously had cooked and the walls sorta greasy. I used absolutely nothing but the paint - nothing else needed. The walls were very dark brown and I used indoor off white to brighten up. We use for a woodsy get away from the big city......
I lived with dark green paneling for almost 20 yrs in the
living room then finally took the plunge.  It took a coat of primer and 2 coats of the light colored paint I wanted, but it was so worth it.  I took before, during and after pictures and the difference it made is unbelievable.
I have painted over almost all the ugly paneling in my house
In fact, just painted my bedroom this week.  Didn't use anything to fill in the grooves because they don't bother me as much as the ugly paneling did.  But I would use a primer first, especially if it is dark. Good luck!   Best thing I ever did!
