You can find the directions for this anywhere on the internet - baking soda, salt and water - or buy a bottle at your local drug store. Don't use medication unless she is actually sick. Make sure you irrigate her nose and that the solution does not go down her nasal passages.

Saline sprays don't bother me at all.
If you use nasal decongestant spray...(s/m)
don't keep it on the dresser next to your eye-moistening drops! This morning I came OH, so close to putting the nasal decongestant into my eye. That would HURT! (And my poor eye probably woulda' shriveled up like a raisin..)
OUCH! Now I keep them separate.
We like using the Zicam nasal swabs when we feel something coming on. Really helps!
