My daughter is going into 8th grade, and she and her friends do this too and she's 13. It drives me nuts. I don't see this happening with boys, although I don't have any. My 4 year old is going through this too, so you're definitely not alone. I find that if she's playing with her little friend across the street they get along fine, but when her other friend who lives next door comes over, all heck breaks loose a lot of times. Hang in there.
