Unfortunately, it is the plan that is the problem, and we have been trying to get them to understand this since the recommendation was first made, in March. Our lives are in complete chaos since it has been implemented and there are a few things that I am certain they have not done in accordance with the law . . . for example, we were not notified of the dates and times of two IEP meetings, the first of the two being held at my request and the second being the result of the first. Responsibility for informing us of these meetings had to be transferred to one of the "higher-ups" in the main special ed office. We are simply trying to exercise our rights (to be concerned and involved parents) and offer helpful suggestions/opinions about placement, and have encountered some very rude and unprofessional behavior in the process. We are about at our wits end. We feel as if we are not being treated as team members and our concerns are not being addressed appropriately, and it has caused our son's behavior to spiral out of control. We have definitely been seeing the brick wall being built by school team members, now looking out more for themselves than for the "free appropriate public education" and well-being of our son.

Thanks for your response. Trying to keep a positive outlook here, but difficult to do under the circumstances.
