I called my brother (a doctor about 8 hours from here) and he suggested if at all poosible to try to wait it out until today and go to my regular doctor. He used to work in the ER here in my hometown. I did get some pain medication from SIL and was able to relax enough that I did get some sleep. Went to the doctor today...had x-rays, strep test, etc. X-rays didn't turn up anything but I do have strep with a rash all over my back and front. No real etiology for the back pain except maybe the way I tried laying to get relief might have put more strain on it. It is not as bad today but I am on a pretty strong pain medication. Who knows? I go back in 4 days and will get an MRI if not improved. I really trust and respect this doctor so I am going to try to wait it out. BTW, I did make it to the funeral. It was a graveside service so I stood which wasn't unbearable, sitting up straight or lying down was actucally more painful. Will keep you updated.
