At first they thought mine was a stone, too, and put me on the first round of antibiotics and said to eat sour candies to stimulate the salivary glands to try to pass the stone, but the swelling didn't go down even after a week on the antibiotics. When I went back, they decided to run the CT and that's when they saw it was the tumor blocking the salivary gland, not a stone as they had thought.

I go tomorrow, Friday, for a re-examination and scheduling a CT-guided biopsy. The surgeon said even if benign I need to have surgery to have it removed ASAP.

Did you have a lot of down time with your parotid procedures? I keep trying to convince myself that I'll have pain meds and should be able to work with only minimal downtime. The last thing I want to do is sit around and dwell on this, so I'd rather keep working if I can.

Thanks so much for the support.
