That is so sweet. Thanks for sharing!

My teenage son did something like that, only it was a song that his favorite band (Good Charlotte if anyone is familiar with them) sang and I think it was called Thank You Mom.  He sent it in an e-mail thanking me for all I had done for him while he was little and since he has gone off to college.  I cried like a baby when I heard it.  He also has a My Space page that we can access and under one section, it asks for his hero.  He said something to the effect that now that he is out in the "real world" his hero is his dad.  They used to fight like cats and dogs, so that was nice to see.

So, they do see what is going on, even if you don't think they do, and they do GET IT eventually.

That is sweet. Thanks for sharing with us :-) nm

thank you for sharing your story. sm
my son seems to have low self esteem for some reason too. he hardly ever gets in trouble. he has always stated he hates going to school and thinks its boring. i had him tested at school in second or third grade for the gifted class. he missed by a few points. he's always been very smart and catches onto things very easily.
again, thanks for sharing your story. i've read a few stories about gifted kids being diagnosed with some anxiety and put on medicine. which they didn't need the medicine, they just needed to be with other kids like themselves.

That is a great story. Made my day. Thx for sharing.

That is a sweet story!
Lucky rooster! I check the stray section of our local humane society all the time, and there is a rooster there also waiting to be adopted that was picked up as a stray! How funny!
What a sweet story.
But your web address is wgvu.com. It should be .org

I thought the story was adorable, and you should be proud.

My oldest son, who is now 21, is quite a good writer. He started writing stories in grade school. I hope your son will continue to nurture his talent.
Just wanted to post a really sweet story

I posted on the 16th about my son attending a candle light vigil for a classmate that had been died while playing the choking game.  Yesterday at school there was a memorial service for him.  My son said the rest of the day was pretty somber and my daughter who did not even know the boy said the same thing.

After school some of the kids really needed a pick-me-up but also to do something special to remember him.

I did state earlier that he and my son were not close but they did share several close friends.  It seems that everytime Trey went to the drive-thru at McDonalds he always ordered every item with Mc in front of it.  A Mccheesburger, Mcfries, McCoke, etc.  About 10 cars of kids decided to go to McDonalds and order just that way.  Someone in the first car must have told the people inside becuase they were giving back Mcchange.

One of my son's closet friends organized this and started to break down while ordering, the lady at the intercom said "it's okay honey, we will get through this".  Then the kids pulled over to an empty part of the parking, blasted  Trey's favorite song and just danced.  It brought my daughter to tears.

She then told me she did sort of know who he was after seeing a picture of him. A couple of weeks ago after school she and a couple of friends were jokingly arguing about who had the coolest cell phone.  Best phone, color, features, etc.  Suddenly Trey walked over to them and pulled out his cell phone which was exactly like my daughter's.  He didn't say a word, just smiled and left.

It is still a terrible tragedy but somehow the other kids are working through it and hopefully will definitely learn an important lesson.

Sweet-chocolate; not sweet-cheese. nm

Adorable! Sweet, sweet, sweet!. thanks.nm.

What a sweet, sweet face!
I have tears in my eyes.  I will see what I can do about getting him a hat from PA.  Do you know do they just want ball caps or would a beanie be okay, too?
Sweet or not sweet cornbread?

oh that's hilarious!!

That is hilarious!
I also laughed out loud when I read your post. I also have a beagle but she doesn't tear anything up when I leave. Now you can't leave food where she can get to it because she would eat it. I used to have a chair close to my counter and my husband got up one morning and cooked a whole skillet full of sausage. Well he came in the bedroom to wake me up to eat and she got on the counter and ate the whole plate of sausage and was licking her lips when my husband went back in there. Oh was he mad! We no longer keep the chair close by the counter anymore so she can't get up there. Beagles have ravenous appetites. They will eat just about anything.
Hilarious!

That would make one heck of a driver's license picture!

It is hilarious but....(sm)
I wonder if it really would work your abs? Sitting all day has made me gain so much weight. I am thinking I could do this when I feel like I need a break. I don't know - might be perfect for our job!
THAT was hilarious. Thanks :-) nm

I think you're hilarious, not
low class, Hayseed. I have a very cool cousin, gorgeous woman, a paralegal who married an orthopedic surgeon. I don't know her terribly well, yet I remember her confessing once that she has this same fascination, much to her husband's dismay. He runs when he sees her coming with that gleam, LOL.
That's hilarious! My neighbor said
her best babysitter was a collie. They lived on a busy highway 40 years ago with a chain link fence. Her male collie would let any kid in the yard, but he would never let them leave unless an adult was taking them out. He would grab them by the back of their pants or diaper and pull them away from the gate or fence.
hahahaha HILARIOUS

Replies to this are hilarious! Most of these people

Pinky and the Brain are hilarious!!! nm

LOL! You are hilarious! So you get up, put your professional attire on sm
including your jacket and hose, probably heels too, and go to work? Wow! You are amazing! I bet you look spectacular in the morning! But not me. I'd rather spend that hour getting ready typing and making money. Besides, I'd feel kind of silly looking all gorgeous and "professional" hoping for a higher wage when the only person that gets to see me looking like this....MYSELF!!
I found it on line, and it was hilarious!
It's not like I made it up!

Hitch was hilarious, and Dodgeball (nm)

That's a hilarious shot, showing
your dog's wrinkled forehead. I can tell it's part of his breed mix characteristic, but then again it kind of looks like he's worried that a rat is attacking his mama! HA!

Do you have to watch a domesticated rat all the time to make sure they don't chew your stuff? I've seen rabbits running around a store once, and they were chewing the walls up.
Okay, THAT book sounds hilarious!!!
Gotta get a copy of that! =)
midair bombs; hilarious!!
Thanks for the laugh.  Maybe now I can see the humor in my kitty puking.  Mine does it about once a week, too.
OMG! - she is hilarious. Let me know when she shows up - would love to visit with her also!!

For some reason I thought this was hilarious. I'm doing a pelvic surgery sm

and this doc will stop and watch a football game, or some kind of game, on t.v. and make little comments like, "man!." He was really into the game. For some reason today I just didn't mind the interruptions from him. It was a pretty long report (partly because of his distraction).

But what I think made it so funny was that this guy is Chinese. I didn't think they liked sports! haha

Hilarious post inside. I needed it this morning! sm

"The Obedient Wife"

There was a man who had worked all his life, had saved all of his money,
and was a real "miser" when it came to his money.

Just before he died, he ! said to his wife..."When I die, I want you to
take all my money and put it in the casket with me. I want to take my
money to the afterlife with me."

And so he got his wife to promise him, with all of her heart, that when
he died, she would put all of the money into the casket with him.

Well, he died. He was stretched out in the casket, his wife was sitting
there - dressed in black, and her friend was sitting next to her. When
they finished the ceremony, and just before the undertakers got ready to
close the casket, the wife said,

"Wait just a moment!"
She had a small metal box with her; she came over with the box and put
it in the casket. Then the undertakers locked the casket down and they
rolled it away. So her friend said,

"Girl, I know you were not foolish enough to put all that money in there
with your husband."

The loyal wife replied, "Listen, I'm a Christian; I cannot go back on my
word. I promised him that I was going to put that money into the casket
with him."

You mean to tell me you put that money in the casket with him!?!?!?"

"I sure did," said the wife. "I got it all together, put it into my
account, and wrote him a check.... If he can cash it, then he can spend
it."

Send this to every clever female you know, and to every man who thinks
they are smarter than women!!!

Night at the Roxbury was hilarious! I laugh just thinking about it! nm

Hilarious/scary Chinese-->English Learning Aid...sm

Since language is "our thing" - and particularly ESL - I thought you'd like to get a head start on what to expect from future Chinese dictators.  Get a load of these Chinese-to-English learning blocks (I'll post this as an URL you can paste into your browser since some are reluctant to click on links):

I suggest we practice by forming sentences, such as:  "The patient is a construction worker who was operating a navvy when a crustacea flew into the cab.  Mistaking it for a darning needle, he swatted at the crustacea and lost control of the navvy, which crashed.  Unfortunately, he was not wearing a safety armet at the time and was knocked unconscious..."

Speaking of that

One time about 5 years ago, I was driving on the interstate, my SO now DH riding with me.  Was just passing the rear of a trucker, cars behind me so there were witnesses to this and I couldn't just slam on my brakes, put on his signal and tried to pull out anyway.  Since I was already passing him, kept going, and he ran me off the road to the center.  Pulled back on and continued to pass him, had his window open and flipped me off.  I didn't see it because I was trying to control the car, but the funny part was my DH (SO) rolling down the window and hanging out giving him a double one back all the way until I got in front of the truck.  I said WHAT is going on!!  He told me the bas%$@d flipped you off.  Come on, they're high enough up to see there's a car right in front of them they want to pass.  I told SO I'm slowing down and get that guy's plate number so I can report him.  He slowed WAY down and stayed so far back that I finally gave up... Guess he wasn't in such a hurry after all.  We still laugh about my husband's ~chivalry~ that day, him hanging out there giving him the double what for!  Wish I had a pic of that for posterity

Not dissing truckers here, my own brother was one for quite a while and have had a couple who stopped to help me and went out of their way when I had a flat tire on the interstate one time in rush-hour traffic on Friday afternoon.  My brother said that was really nice of them because it's money out of their pocket, but he did always say to report truckers who are playing games because it's so dangerous.

Speaking for myself.....
it is quite the opposite. Any thread not adhering to the politically correct policies of this country is in danger of being deleted. Christians are not politically correct and never will be on this earth.
Speaking of AI
Is anyone here going to see them on Tour?  Tickets go on presale tomorrow and I can't wait to get tickets.  My friend and I take our daughters and go every year.  We make a day out of it.  We become groupies for the day.  We've had great luck meeting most of the idols since season 5 and I'm looking forward to meeting Adam and Danny this year.
well, speaking from experience (OP)
I never "sat on the bench with my breasts out" after breastfeeding my son.  Most women *put them up* after the job is done.  Come on now, be realistic about this issue...
Speaking of condoms...

DS (15 yrs old) came home from school yesterday and I asked him what was new. He said the usual - "Not much."

Then.... "Oh, yeah, we learned how to put on a condom in sex class."

I about fell over!!!! Apparently, the teacher had a ... uh... plastic "subject" and she asked for a volunteer to come up and apply the condom to the ... uh... model. And it's called "Health class," but he refers to it as "sex class."

Whatever happened to food fights in school????

No, seriously, I'm glad they learn this stuff. You know what they say, "The More You Know...!"

His speaking out against it would scares me too. (nm)
x
sorry, His speaking out against it would scare me too.
x
not OP but statistically speaking there are far more

There are online websites documenting how many men versus women in each city of this country and the number of women today far outweigh the number of men......

jes sayin'.............
