do you get those? I did for years and years, and the two always seemed to be tied together. I never could tell which came first, though, the "chicken or the egg". But no matter which one came on first, the other was always soon to follow. (Low thyroid was diagnosed at about the same time, though obviously didn't play that large a role, because I had the migraines & depresson long before the low thyroid was ever diagnosed).

When I started on SSRI's, I had not one, but THREE benefits:
1) Depression eased about 95-100%.
2) Migraines gradually diminished from 2x a week to maybe once a year, or less, and intensity much lower, too.
3) The onset of menopause may have also helped to lessen the migraines, but that was benefit #3 of SSRI's - absolutely NO menopausal symptoms. Zip. Nada. None.

With the sudden onset of uncharacteristic depression, my pearl of wisdom would be to schedule a physical exam, and talk with your doctor about it. Life is difficult enough these days, without facing it in a depressed state.
