I get the kids what they need. In our house, there are times when one child is going to need something the other doesn't (one may need running shoes) and that's just the way it is. I get them what the need and always have. It may not be "fair" to them but in the big picture it ends up evening out pretty much. Now Christmas and birthdays; that's different. I try to spend the same amount on them each. But with every day stuff and school clothes shopping, it is what they need.
