It is all natural and your teeth feel really clean afterwards. It is a little pricey though.

I think some up here in Maine still use them!

There are some doctors that do still make housecalls up here in rural Maine...floored me the first time I typed up a report on one!  I'm not talking nursing home calls either...these were bonafide housecalls, complete with description of having iced tea with a patient on their porch!  I kid you not!

Speaking of "back in the day," remember how some doc's used to have license plates that said "MD" on them next to the numbers?  Never see those anymore either...seems they like to stay under the radar should they drive by an accident or something.

They just had one here in Maine!

Some frantic mother got a text messsage from her kid in school (I know, I know, kids having access to a cell phone during school hours blows my mind too!) who said they have police and dogs in the school and are checking lockers, backpacks, and the students for "something."  Wouldn't divulge what.  Some mumbo jumbo about finding "threatening" grafitti in one of the bathrooms and they were simply looking for the spray can so they could finger the perp.  100% BS if you ask me.  They also wouldn't let parents in to get their kids, which just...there are no words.

Now I know why people are yanking their kids from the public school systems more and more and home schooling them.  I used to think that was a silly thing to do, but ya know what?  The more I read and see the more I think they are ahead of the game here.  What makes me even angrier is that, as a taxpayer, this crap is allowed to go on without anyone seemingly making a huge stink over it!

I'm from Maine too!
I live in Bangor! I just had to renew my license last year, but I couldn't do it online since it told me that since it was my first time renewing it (I was only 25), I had to go in to get an updated picture taken. I hate that DMV!

Hey just wanted to say "Hi", I am from Maine also.
Maine
Durham! lol, not far at all from you! Nice to meet you neighbor!
It's really warm in Maine
For the past week, it has been in the 60s and 70s here. We haven't had to start running the heat in our house yet this year, but I'm sure we will be soon! I remember last year around this time it was freezing and we were already burning through heating oil like crazy! I just wish this weather would last...
Anyone out there living in Maine? SM

An old boyfriend, who is now a minister lives in Bath, Maine. Can you tell me where it is located and something about it?  I would appreciate it. I was thinking of maybe visiting his church.

Yes, I live in Maine.
Bath is in southern Maine, about an hour and a half from where I live. I don't know too much about it. It's a somewhat small town.
Not a maine coon but he looks just like
Norwegian Forest Cat, really big and fits the category, double fured, loves the water and will jump in a bathtub for drinking, carries his tail straight up but alas, he and his brother are Wal-Mart give-aways and how I love those guys. His brother is smaller, about 14 lbs.
Maine Solution to Insomnia
Shot of Allen's Coffee Flavored Brandy, AKA fat a$$ in a glass.
How about Mick *MC* for Maine Coon :) lol

It has been the opposite here in Maine this summer!
TONS of out of state cars all over the place, especially on the coast. I just got back from Massachusetts last week myself and did see quite a few out of state cars.
Central Maine, near Bangor.

We are entering the BEST time of year here.  Bugs are going bye-bye and the colors are starting to show.  We've already had a few frosts, so the tender annuals totally got wasted.  I got some firewood stacked, still need lots more, and the tractor and snowblower are lubed up and ready to go to work!  My favorite wintertime activity is plowing the snow with the ATV because I'm totally queeah like that!

Your temps there in Utah would be the death of me!  I'm "genetically engineered" to be comfortable in the lower temps northern New England has to offer, know what I'm sayin?  ;-)

Since Maine is Stephen King's state
LOL
Oops, sorry, it's in Portland Maine.....found a link!

:)
we're heading to Maine in a couple of weeks
Can't wait- love the shore in the summer. What part of Maine are you in? We go to the Wells/Ogunquit area. Would love to stay at Drake's Island just can't afford it in the summer! :) Any restaurant recommendations?
False Information- TAIB (Maine) is not associated with Synthescribe in any way!
just wanted to (hopefully) clear something up. Although I know this is an older post, I am sure that I am not the only Transcriptionist who searches the archives when deciding on whether to apply/interview with a company.

I spoke to Penny Jackson Pray, President/Owner of Transcription at its Best, Inc. in Maine. I asked Ms. Jackson Pray about these references, and she is adamant that she is not, nor has she ever been, associated or affiliated in any way with any other transcription company, including Synthescribe.

It's very important that, when we're making these postings, we are as specific and thorough (educated) as possible, as - in this case - a company's reputation has been unfairly tarnished.

After speaking with Penny, I truly believe that TAIB is a well-run, stable, US-based company that does not offshore.

Ms. Jackson Pray has previously made this posting, although it posted separately from this thread and may be easily overlooked:

"Please note that my company Transcription At Its Best, Inc. is not associated with any other company with this name. This is the recent posting to which I refer --

Please run from this company. This is really an undercover name for Synthescribe, which operates out of TN. They will hire you and fire all their employees without notice. If you want a stable job, don't even waste your time with them. You will only be disappointed.

AGAIN THIS IS NOT TAIB in MAINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Thank you Penny Jackson Pray - Owner/President"

Again, I just ask that we (posters) be a little more careful and thorough in our descriptions before we slam companies; and also that, as job seekers, we make our own educated, informed decisions- based on our own research.

I have been offered a position with this company and, should I accept it, I will follow up with my experiences.
Can anyone suggest a nice name for a new male Maine Coon kitty?

He will actually be my 5th Maine Coon cat.  I am getting him somewhat suddenly because someone else decided to wait for the exact color they wanted.  I am fine with the way he looks - silver and white mackrel.  What is a nice manly name for a cat?  All ideas welcome.  You all can always come up with something terrific!

Maine here. We're supposed to get up to a foot of snow by tomorrow
It's freezing up here right now.
I have relatives in fairly rural Maine who never lock, and I feel totally safe there. nm
