I am all for it when it first happens, as where else are they going to take their grief? However, I think with all the money spent on stuffed animals, flowers, etc., each state could set up a plaque fund for roadside accidents to take the place of some of these. There are some in my state which are sky-high and you can't help but take your attention off the road to look, I think this is dangerous and could cause another accident. I would rather see a nice metal sign or something to denote that XYZ was a victim of a MVA and the date. This would not deter from honoring someone but really, some of these sites are becoming an eyesore and are in my opinion, disrespectful more than anything else. I have done a 90 degree turn on this since seeing some of the latest sites that look like trash day with dead flowers, wet stuffed toys, deflated balloons and all kinds of things, even beer bottles (oxymoron). That's not a tribute, that's an insult. Perhaps there is a better way. It is a tragedy and someone should come up with a more dignified tribute.
