Very correct about Club Med

Posted By: LinK on 2008-12-30
In Reply to: There are some Club Meds that do not - My 2cents

There are only a handful of Club Meds that that cater to families. There are probably over 50 and there are some that are supposed to be quite wild.

Club Med
I would recommend it highly. I've been to Club Med 5 times, twice before I got married and three times with the children. We have so much fun. It's like a cruise on land. There's so much to do or you can do nothing at all. There's clubs for families and the kids have their own clubs within Club Med. My daughter learned to water ski. They had Circus School at the Club Med in Florida, so she leared the trapeez, etc. She loved it so much we barely saw her the whole week we were there. The foods is amazing. Truthfully, I wouldn't go on vacation anywhere else but an all-inclusive. Unfortunately, we're not going this year due some medical problems within the family, but hopefully next year.
Christmas Club...sm
I have three grown kids (includes 1 in-law) and I have money taken out of my paycheck through the year and whatever the amount is when I get the check, I divide that by 3 and that is how much I spend on the kids.  It's usually around $200 to $250.  I put back through the year from my OT and get my husband something nice and then I just pick up a few inexpensive things along the way for a couple of other people I like to give a little something to.  I don't think anybody really cares how much I spend on them, but I do try my best to be equal in what I spend on the kids, even at their ages now!
Join the club!
I cannot get mine threaded! Couldn't believe that. Will wait until after the holidays to try again.

Club Med is amazing
You could also try Club Med. They have places all over the world. We've been to the one in Cancun twice, the one in Florida twice (very family friendly), and Bermuda. Just the kind of vacation I love.
There are some Club Meds that do not
admit anyone under a certain age. Not all are family friendly, some very adult themed.
My daughter is into Club Penguin!
She's a computer geek already!!!  Just kidding!!!  LOL
Find a Steelers fan club
We moved away from Pittsburgh 20+ years ago.  Most cities have fan clubs.  We belong to one in our city, and it's a lot of fun going on Sundays and watching the games.
country club dressing sm
Just attended a wedding at a country club. No matter where you go, everyone dresses differently. I would wear a dress or nice pants & top with some jewelry if you have any. Some of the men had suits and some had just a shirt and tie (with slacks, of course!). I wore a plain short dress with a jacket handy because the place was so air conditioned, and a nice necklace, nylons and a slight heel. Everyone was dressed differently. Just make sure your hair looks neat, your crowning glory, then the rest of you will feel just fine. I think since it is your family, you may feel better if you just look neat with a little jewelry that's in your budget. They are very fortunate that you are celebrating their milestone. Wearing a smile and taking lots of pics and giving a copy to the couple will put you high on their list. Have fun!!!
Timeshare/Vacation Club

Last summer, my husband and I got suckered into one of those timeshare talks while on vacation.  We ended up buying into the "trial program".  It wasn't overly expensive, only about $1000, and we would receive 1-week at one of their resorts and a "price freeze" should we decide to buy in after that.  After returning home and reviewing the package a little more closely, we decided that we wanted to cancel the trial package.  I did a little research online and found that we had 7 days to cancel a timeshare.  I immediately sent a certified letter to the resort company requesting to cancel the purchase agreement.  They never responded and I ended up calling them to see if they had received my request.  They confirmed that they did but that it was non-cancellable.

We stopped the autopay that we had set up on a credit card.  From that time on, we began to get collection letters.  I contacted the real estate commission for that state and asked for this to be investigated, to which I received a blanket letter from them stating that they tried to mediate but that the resort refused to resolve this.  The resort basically stated that it was not cancellable and that we owed the money.

What I am wondering is, what happens now?  The resort said they would continue to pursue this issue through third-party collectors.  If I legally am obligated to this debt, why wouldn't they just take me to court?  Why would they continue to draw this out?  What effect will it have on my credit score?  Anyone ever been in a similar situation?  I should also note that we never used this vacation package.  It expires July 2009.  The total due has now escalated to about $1500 due to their "late fees".  I don't want to ruin my credit over $1500, but I also don't want this package.  Any suggestions?

I would hit Costco or Sam's Club and grab (sm)
some big bags of tortilla chips and salsa, something more bland maybe for the kids - and maybe even offer hotdogs/buns for the kids so they won't waste friend chicken?   You can also buy big cans of Bush's Baked Beans and I'd get a potato salad or macaroni salad as well - you want them to fill up on the less expensive items so you don't run out of meat - kids usually love spaghetti also - that and some french bread would be a good side - I worry about fried chicken and the mess... have fun!!
Dear Columbia DVD Club
I know I was a sucker and a moron to ever sign up with you and probably deserve all the grief I am now getting with you charging my credit care for things I didn't order.  However, I believe this just might be FRAUD (ya think?) on your part.  Please stop charging me.  Thank you.

I swear, I should be working. But, I just got done combing through the new Sam's Club Christmas s

catalog. You would not believe the kind of stuff they have in there now! I was impressed, shocked, thrilled, all at the same time. Now they have "packages" that members could buy and here were your 3 choices. You tell me which you'd choose, okay? Remember, this is just for fun because obviously none of us are millionaires (or at least I don't think we are :)

1.  The Tony Bennett package which includes: Round trip tickets for 4 to London, VIP passes, meet Tony, autographs, 5 star hotel, gold VIP seats, food. Price: 44,000.

2. The Super Bowl package: Round trip tickets for 4 to Miami, tickets to the game, party with Dan Marino, 4 signed autographed jerseys, limo rides, 750.00 per person for spending money, 8:00 tee time at NFL golf game with an NFL player (OMG, how many husbands would be in awe of this??), 5-star hotel, amazing seats to the game, PLUS - 57 inch plasma t.v., surround sound for your home, camcorder, digital camera. Price: 77,000

3.  The New Cessna Mustang (BEAUTIFUL), personal jet: Price: 2,400,000 (or something like that). To the person purchasing this: You must wire transfer 275,000 upon agreeing to buy it. This is MY choice, especially since I have a son who lives 4 states away.......

But, how much does a personal pilot cost? How much does it cost to "store" your plane?

Ahh, the lifestyle of the rich...How nice would it be to get your hubby the NFL package for Christmas???? It just doesn't compare to a tie, does it? Sigh..................

My husband is a runner and is very active in his track club.
He drives me a little crazy, because it's nothing for him to run 10-miles for a "simple" workout. But he does a lot with the club by setting up races, some of which benefit charities. And he's very good, by the way. He's finished well in national track meets. He's also the treasurer for our son's boy scout troop. I'm an assistant scoutmaster and do all of the outside stuff with the kids. Hubby HATES camping, hiking, backpacking. But that's the stuff for me! Our interests overlap in a few areas, but there have been times that we even take separate vacations. (Lots of people gasp at that.) But, occasionally, we can combine them. He's running in Maine next year, and I know that there is a river that passes in front of our hotel. I'm bringing my kayak! He can run all he wants! :)
I composed a song about the Westmister Kennel Club and put it on CD SM
and have written poems and want to submit them, just don't know where, as I see warnings not to submit them to many publishing companies. Any good ones I can trust?

You are correct...
except for one thing: It was never a war. It was and is an illegal invasion and occupation of a sovereign nation. Since the invasion was illegal (based on lies) Mr. Bush is guilty of war crimes. Hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi's are dead - on Saddaam's worse day he never massacred like this...

And our news media WILL NOT tell you the truth on any day, but the numbers of US soldiers horribly wounded is astounding - all because of the many war profiteers - including mainstream media.

Everything you said is correct

The muslims are demanding foot baths in the airports so they can wash their feet.  I think they might have gotten them somewhere, but not 100% sure.  They are also the ones that threw the fit last Christmas about the Christmas decorations in an airport and none for whatever holiday they celebrate. AND THE CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS WERE TAKEN DOWN!!  Now, I'm sorry, but something stinks here.  I know this probably doesn't belong on this board and might be deleted, so I apologize in advance to the moderator, but I am so sick of the symbols of Christianity being shoved into a closet somewhere, especially at Christmas.  I do not sent out holiday cards and I do not put up a holiday tree and my kids don't have winter break.  I put Christmas in front of all of those words because that is the reason for the seaon, in my house at least!

Okay, stepping off my soapbox, bowing in apology to the moderator, and going about my business.  Have a great day!

Oh, and to the OP, sorry you had to take YOUR decorations down, too.  I just don't get it sometimes.

You are correct in a way sm
There is definitely something wrong with her, that's why we have to help her, that's all I'm saying. It's been out of her hands for a long time and she has had so many young people follow her that she needs to straighten up and "fly right" as my Mom used to say, so that the younger ones who adored her can learn that there is hope in recovery let's just pray she recovers. Your decision to not do this is totally correct for what you believe in. My take is a little different, I want her to straighten out and become a spokesperson for those who have become addicted and try to show remorse and accountability, which is going to be almost impossible but at least she could try. If she dies from her bad behavior, she will be a "saint" to those who still believe in her rise to stardom. (i.e., Anna Nichol, Marilyn, etc.).and extreme behavior.  The young are vulnerable. Those of us who have walked our talk know better. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm hoping for a turnaround, that's all. Expect a miracle! Her children would benefit much more from their Mom in recovery becoming a power of example than dying drunk or stoned. Some speak from their own childhood experiences. I'm thinking of her little ones now more than her. I guess I've heard too much in my life (or is that hurt)? IMHO
You are all correct and thanks...
Causing it I believe is my own guilt that I am not doing everything 100%, job 110%, kids 110%, house, etc. And yes, I am forgetting about myself.
I don't want to quit my job at all, I remember that I love it. I just need to balance really my mind and time better so I take the stress off myself.
And you are correct. I did pamper myself already a bit today. Went to a local store having a sale and got a pair of shoes. Maybe go get a manicure tomorrow. I also took a major step and joined Gold's gym where I can finally get out of the house anytime I want and go on the bikes and I signed up for tanning hoping that the sunlight will cheer me. My little boy went and is excited about the Wii and rock climbing wall he can play on there when I am working out. So, doing these things today and tomorrow will make me better for my job, and my family. And for me! At least I hope I am doing the right thing. Of course, I have to type more now that I just spent money on shoes and the gym, but maybe those phermones from working out will kick in as well. Anybody else have suggestions would be dearly appreciated. And thanks for your kindness.:)
correct
I had it so bad I could not sit at all for about four months without being in agony. I enrolled in a yoga class at the YMCA. It took several months, but it finally healed and I know the exercises to do when it flares up.
Correct.
Leave them open when you pay them off so it shows you have available credit.

I know a couple who wanted to buy a house. They paid off all their credit cards and closed the accounts thinking they would have a great credit score. Guess what? Nobody would give them a mortgage because they had NO credit at all. In this situation, you're da**ed if you do and da**ed if you don't.
Correct me if I am wrong
but I believe worms are hermaphrodites so the "males" would be able to get pregnant....
Now the correct sentence for her would

What is wrong with our system??

Yes, beliefs would be correct. Why would you sm
live your life like that - not being positive or certain about anything? I, for one, believe in God deeply and I take Him at His word and if He makes a promise I hold Him to it and He's yet to forsaken me. Unless you've been there I guess you can't understand what I mean.

I know things can happen. I've been through some extremely difficult times in my life (losing a child), but I do say words like refuse and I AM, or I WILL and then I do them. I don't leave my life up to chance. I don't say I hope to do this or that. If I want something bad enough I go after it and usually don't quit until I get it. Yes, it's in my beliefs. It's my core. It's who I am. I am very positive, despite the many setbacks I've had in life.
I wonder if that is a correct diagnosis

Her symptoms sound more like what a couple of people I know experienced with cardiac arrhythmia. I don't know the exact diagnosis, but one of them was treated with ablation and is doing well, and the other had a pacemaker and defibrillator implanted and is doing well. These women were both in their 30s when they started experiencing symptoms.

I was a military wife for a long time - there are some good doctors in the military but they can be few and far between. I hope your friend will ask to be referred to a non-military cardiologist.

You are precious. You are correct. I'm with you 100%, Jan. nm

Being politically correct...

I don't want to cause any problems, commotions, arguments, or what have you - I just want opinions/advice on the following:

We are a small office of 6.  Every year, we decorate for Christmas - put up a small tree, hang some ornaments from the ceiling tiles, wrapping paper on the door.  This year, the newest member of the team is JV.  Though he does not talk about it, push the subject, etc, he has very politely and quietly sent me emails regarding that he doesn't celebrate birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. SO, the question is... how do we decorate the office without offending anyone?

politically correct
I have been friends with a family who are JW. They never minded the holiday thing for everyone else, just quietly lived their own beliefs. My friend even brought my boys candy just before Christmas, stating it was not a Christmas present, just a little something. I wouldn't do anything different than you have always done. Don't put him in the gift exchange, but do include him in the food part. For ex., quietly take him some cake, cookies, whaterver, leaving out the mention of the occasion. They are really quite adaptic (is that a word?) to our ways. Forget politically correct. Follow your heart and basic common decency/courtesy. You won't find other religions asking you if they can do something. Knew a radiologist who always wore the Jewish think on his head to work - we learned a lot about the Jewish faith from him. Wasn't offended, thought it was pretty cool at the time.
You are abolutely correct
Sometimes it takes knocking me across the head more than once to wake me up. I am taking your advice. I've changed the channel from all the news garbage to the Food Network Channel - Love the show Drive-ins, diners, and dives - except that it makes me hungry :-) and BBC always has good programming. Better than the garbage on the other channels. Makes me think of that line from the movie ET "I am in complete control" :-) Thanks
Yes! You are correct & 1 day at a time :-) Thank you for the

you are absolutely correct..
What organized religions see as divine revelation and holy books, most deists see as interpretations made by other humans, rather than as authoritative sources.
Yep - you're correct...sm
on the irs.gov website, it states if you owe taxes, child support that it will hold the balance from the rebate. For instance, we owe 1,500.00 and paid 100.00 with the first installment so with the stimulus, we'll get a whopping 100.00! :( Funny how they leave some things out of this "wonderful news"
you are correct - I never thought of it that way
Sometimes it takes a knock against the side of the head to face reality they have rights too. I just wish they'd be a little more courteous (like wait til after 8 am on the noise and after 8 pm keep the noise down. In Germany they did have a law tht you could not mow your lawn on Sundays or after 6 pm. It worked well for everyone.
Thank you for that. You are absolutely correct. I saw him SM
in an interview and he cried when they asked him what he misses most.  He said he missed the ability to play the piano more than anything.  Some years back they said that Estelle Getty had the same condition.
and don't correct my spelling...
I see my errors. LOL
Ewwwwww is correct,
If PETA thinks that Americans are going to start eating, drinking problems made from breast milk? They are dummber than they seem.

They say that do this taking the cows milk takes away from the baby (or what is meant for the baby), then isn't it the same that breast milk would take away from the baby.

If they were ever to consider this I think they would lose lots of business.
Correct about one thing
One can still be saved and not have to attend church but church should be a place where we can go to be with those who follow Christ and if we do it right, be there for one another in Christ.

I don't believe a person is sinful just because they don't attend a church but I know it would uplift them to belong to a good church and be a part of a church community. So many times people feel lonely and isolated and a good church family would be there for them.

I guess this one is correct, but
I hate it when people say, "on either side," meaning on both sides. I could see saying, "on each side," but either just doesn't make sense to me in this context.
The other poster is correct....
I think it was on What Not To Wear or one of those shows where I heard if you have that problem it is because the cup size is not big enough for you. With that size naturally I wouldn't think you would need a "push up" because those have a lot of extra padding to give the push. Maybe go to a store in the mall and talk to them. Surely they will have a suggestion for your size and style interest. Doesn't mean you have to buy it there, just get the idea and then go to Target or someplace and buy what you want a little less expensive.
anatomically correct. NM
.
Whether using correct terminology or other,
a kid could still walk up and ask to see whatever anatomical part, what they call it makes no difference, it is the same. Pelvis is fine, or private parts. What is the hang-up? Each parent raises their child as they see fit.
You are correct..it was my computer...Thanks! (NM)

You are totally correct and it was inappropriate.
Don't listen to the obviously ignorant posters. First of all, this is a bra were are talking about. He went out of his way to come over to make that comment to you. He later told you he thought you were pretty and may have been "overly friendly" to you. And even the girl at the counter said, "he's weird, why would he ask you that", totally confirming the fact that it was indeed inappropriate and uncomfortable. I don't know if I would do anything about it, but just know some of us do not think you are overreacting or seeking attention and you are 100% right in your feelings of being violated. Some of the others probably can only wish this happened to them if you get my drift.

Choose the correct path
You are walking down a road and you encounter a fork in the road and you do not know the correct way to go. There are two men standing at the junction and both know the correct road. One man always lies, and the other man always tells the truth, but you do not know who is the liar and who is the one who tells the truth. You can only ask each man one question, but it must be the same question for both. What is the question that would allow you to get the information necessary to choose the correct path?
correct me if I am wrong, but I believe I read--sm
that there was a bomb threat there just this past Friday and they closed the schools at that time. I wonder if this was the same person who made the threat, and perhaps the school officials were slightly too hasty to take something else happening too much for granted. My prayers for all involved!
Your reply was correct up to a point
A lot of grandmothers have the finances to pay for a wedding. This should not be the bottom line at all. You got the first part right, the bridge and groom make up the list and no one else, just keep it at that.
