We just got a Garmin Nuvi 350

We're headed for the beach this week.  My husband and I are both directionally challenged.  We always seem to get lost.  We haven't tried out yet en route, but we did turn it on and went out on the porch and it told us exactly where we were at - right out of the box!  We also looked up local stuff on it and it was very accurate.

We got it from QVC, that way we have 30 days to try it out.  If we don't like it, all we pay is the shipping to send it back.  Can't beat that!  We ordered it the other week when everything was on easy pay for 5 payments.  The total cost (shipping and a dash mount) was $305.00  After reading the reviews, we opted to get the "bean bag" dash mount, so we could put it in either vehicle.

daughter just said her boyfriend got -- that it will TELL you which way and when to turn, so you don't have to take your eyes off the road. Sounds pretty good!
DH has Garmin mobile on his cell phone - sm
In my opinion, this is the best service he has ever gotten.  We had the Garmin on going through Atlanta at 7:30 a.m. (traffic nightmare), and the Garmin got us through in record time by avoiding the crowded areas.  It took us a little while to figure out the lady's voice was saying "follow route" and not "turn around" and to figure out she was saying "recalculating" when we over-shot our exits (which is really great about this service...it follows you around and corrects when you screw up).
It's Garmin - I really want one too!! Borrowed a few times & love them! (nm)

Garmin is a popular model, but DH chose
the Magellan Maestro 4000 GPS portable navigational system for features and price.

He got it on Bizrate through Beach Camera.
