We use

I have never liked Folgers (we used to live in Seattle and Folgers was not considered "real coffee" HA HA). I have heard they use a lot of fillers. Also they process it when the beans are too green. We have been using Millstone for over a year now. We go back and forth between the Hazlenut and Vanilla Nut flavors. It makes a wonderful cup of coffee. We had the same experience with other brands that you have described with Folgers. We used to use Seattle's Best & Starbucks but their coffee started tasting really bad. I bought Peet's coffee once and it was horrible horrible.

The measurements I use (using a metal coffee thingy (whatever that is called that you scoop grounds into the filter) is 5-1/2 scoops for a 10-11 cup pot. Each scoop holds 2 tablespoons and I heap the scoop of grounds. We also have a Brita water filter, so I use water that's been filtered (but not ice cold).

Hope you find a decent coffee soon. Nothing worse than needing a good cup of Jo and it tastes horrible.
