The back seat, I agree, you felt not in control. But if he's there with you, he's also not in control. Perhaps it just means that you don't blame each other. The money I think is showing that although he's giving you a larger amount, it isn't going very far and/or you think he doesn't do enough in other ways, though he seems to think it is enough by him pointing out the 100. That last part, it really seems as though you might really want him in your lives, but he seems firm but gentle about saying no.
