When I had one done

I believe I got results in about 3-4 days by phone, basically to ressure me that all was ok, then I had an actual followup appt in about 1-2 weeks to discuss with the doctor. Of course, it could vary from place to place, they may have to send the specimen to an outside pathologist or something, but I would say to give it about 5 days. Just because it may take longer does not necessarily mean it is bad news. You can always call your physician's office to check up on it if you don't hear anything at that time. I used to work in a doctor's offices, so I always take it upon myself to followup on my results, since I know how things can get lost in the suffle at times. Hope your news is good news.
