second helpings and was getting big. I just put less than half a serving on his plate and spread it around. Then did the same with the second helping. He was actually eating less but was okay because he had his 2 helpings. Also would try not to fry anything and give him more of low-cal type foods and more protein. This worked for me, but he would eat just about anything so he wasn't hard to please. He did get snacks, but in small portions, and a lot of fresh fruit;if it was canned I used the "own juice" variety. Bless you for recognizing this is something you can help him with now and not wait another 10 years and blame MacDonald's. You might talk to his pediatrician, also. Good luck.
