Wool blends are the warmest by far. (sm)

I love my wool-blend winter socks since I have Raynaud's and my feet get cold easily. I NEVER walk around barefoot - even in summer I have at least flip flops on to keep cold floors from sucking all body heat out of my feet.

You can even buy wonderful thin wool-blend dress socks that are very soft. I personally like the ones with a little memory in the blend to keep them from being loose and baggy. It's a lot of fine print to read, but the tags tell you how much wool and how much of the memory yarn is in them. Even 1% of the memory stuff helps IMO.

Now - where have I found these ... I wish I could remember!
This is the time of year to start looking for warm and soft socks though.

for my mom that I knew she really, really wanted so I saved up (over $200 and I was in college at the time so not a lot of $ to go around), sent in a money order to Sharper Image and got it. The other was this great antique RCA mirror for my DH (he collects antique RCA signs and such), very unique, he loved it, and it hangs in our living room now.
