I ended up being diagnosed with Haglund's syndrome and had surgery with lengthening and pinning of my Achilles tendon in April of 2007, still not right.  I was laid up, totally non-weightbearing for 16 weeks.  My podiatrist said that it was from repetitive use of that foot.  I have orthotics now, but I still am constantly barefooted, which I know is not good.  I am going to try the crocks!  Thanks for the suggestion.
