Yeah, I hate that. I am fortunate to have - sm

In Reply to: Frustrated with eye doctor! - Lllls

a great eye doctor, no long waits either. He is very thorough and recently saw a spot on my daughter's retina. She had cancer almost 4 years ago now and anything out of the ordinary must be checked. We went back in for a repeat retinal scan and found it unchanged, diagnosed as a freckle, though he will continue to follow it to be on the safe side. He did a full exam on her though we were only to get the scan done, and only charged us for the scan. He is a good eye doctor in all respects. My neighbor recommended him to me after I complained that I had been bouncing from place to place for about 8 years trying to find someone I was happy with (newish to area), and did not blind me when dilating my eyes. He has a retinal scan machine and no need to dilate eyes, which is great as it takes me 12-18 hours for my eyes to get back to normal, hard to drive let alone work. My doctor does use dilute solution if you request it, and uses it in the summer for all so you are not so blinded in the sun. But I'd look for a smaller office, less patients, no chains, and one that has a retinal scan machine. Good luck.

You are very fortunate
I am too! I have a great hubby also but for different reasons. Ain't love grand!!!
I'm so sorry - but think how fortunate she has been! (sm)
She has obviously been loved and well cared for her whole life. There are so many homeless puppies out there. You have given her a good life so feel good about that. I know it will be hard still, but know in your heart that you gave her a good life, ok?
Yes, so fortunate
Eventually my husband and I want to move to a smaller house, but I can't bear to leave the neighborhood! It's wonderful to have supportive friends so close by. We all laugh about how nobody dares to move.
Thank God your son is okay! My prayers for those not so fortunate. nm

We are also fortunate here in our area...
we have a small (1500 sf) home, 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, will be remodeling the bath and kitchen in the next year and adding 2 rooms upstairs. We live on 15 acres, have a 4-stall horse barn, a shop, a beautiful view, live in the country, mortgage is only 1100 a month and property taxes are less than 1000 a year. My dh only paid 185,000 for the place and it is now appraised at over 350,000. Used to live in California, so know the whole story about home prices there. We have Californians who migrate here and buy houses sometimes just by seeing a picture on the internet, never even come up to look at it in person.
You've been very fortunate...sm

You've been kind, taken care of folks and like you said, Karma (what goes around comes around).   Cat

Your grandmom was very fortunate to have you too! (sm)
how many grandchildren would live with their grandparent through college and still talk about them with so much love years later? That is so sweet and wonderful that you both had such a good relationship with each other!
Guess I'm fortunate
My husband is such a fantastic cook that we rarely go out for dinner. My birthday was last week and he gave me a choice of any restaurant I wanted to eat to celebrate. I thought about it for a couple of days, then just asked him if he could make his grilled rib steaks, shrimp scampi with angel hair pasta, and mixed green salad at home. It cost about a third of what getting a similar meal at a restaurant would have cost, and I swear it tasted better.

I don't grab fast food for lunch anymore...I usually heat up whatever we have left over from the dinner he's cooked the night before, so I guess it costs me $0 to eat lunch.

I don't ever want to go back to the value menu cuisine I ate before I met my husband, lol!!!
Fortunate ours are picky in this case....sm
Our cats won't eat anything but Little Friskies and Fancy Feast, and Meow Mix dry food, so thank goodness for that. Our dogs have eaten Mighty Dog, which is on the list, so I am a little concerned.
We were fortunate enough to receive one for coal...sm
Considering the high cost of heating oil, natural gas, and kerosene, we're very grateful...Thanks, Santa.  Cat

went in with the best intentions, tried as hard as I possibly could, 15 yrs and 4 marriage counselors and countless tears later, I am posting the message below
Some of us are fortunate enough to NOT be cold-hearted shrews!

who care only for themselves and nobody else.  We care deeply about our loved ones and it is extremely difficult to turn them out, even if it is the right thing and only thing left to do!  It's not about backbone, lady!  Where's your compassion?  This is painful for her.  She is watching her father sink further and further into mental illness and she feels helpless.  She wants to fix him, take care of him, and make him better, but she is realizing she can't.  That's a painful realization -- the realization that no matter how much you love them, no matter how much you try to help, it will never be enough, you will never succeed, and the only thing left to do is save yourself.

Curious Girl, will eventually do what she needs to do, but doing what is right can be just as painful as something that is wrong.  What she needs are shoulders to cry on and people around her to tell her she's a good person NOT criticize her and tell her she needs to grow a backbone!

yeah, yeah - Was/still am a Sam Cooke fan...

have a series of his albums (Sam's) and my older sister was into Jackie Wilson (he died very young)......never will be anything like Motown was..........*nods*......

and don't you just hate
all those passwords you have to memorize. Just when I get them down I have to change them again!!!! I just ain't equipped to live in a modern world!
I hate to say this, but
"home" is wherever I'm at with my family! If my husband and children are with me, I'm "home". I'm happy and full of peace and joy when they are with me and okay!
I hate when that happens!
I wonder why anybody even specializes in dermatology; those I have seen have not seemed very talented in the area of diagnosing either!

Hope it clears up soon.

OMG I hate those-
then when it finally comes out it's way too much all at once! Very irritating.
THAT'S what I hate . . .
being treated like some low-life scum and not being trusted becuase I have had a run of misfortune. It's very degrading.
I hate that too!

And in our Walmart, they say the announcements in English and then again in Spanish sometimes.   Not all the time, but it drives me up the wall!  It just encourages them not to bother learning the language.

I hate having to call Verizon when we have trouble with our DSL, because I always get an ESL. Some are better than others, but I can't stand that.

I hate when that happens.
Okay, that never happens to me.

Wow - I hate this for you all so much!! (sm)
I hope everything gets under control there soon and that you don't have to evacuate. I just want to say I'm so sorry and that many people everywhere really are thinking of you and praying for you. I'm sorry you didn't hear back from your supervisors - I hope there is some logical explanation and that it is not just that they don't care. Either way - many other people do. I hope it all gets better for you soon!!
Hate it too
That is why I love Cape Cod. We get to enjoy all four seasons, but the warm ocean air usually keeps the snow away.
I truly hate that. sm

I was just discussing with my husband the other day how the Kennedy family is just cursed.  They have had so many tragedies...I honestly think there has to be a curse there.  So much has happened.

I wonder if he had been experiencing any other symptoms or if this just came out of nowhere.  My aunt died from lung cancer that had spread to her brain, and she had many, many symptoms.  Cancer by its very nature, though, is sneaky.  A hard disease to fight.

I hate ...
When I take out the recyclables, walk back in, and realize that I have to open another can, to feed the cat

When I leave the house, wearing my "around the house" glasses, even though my "going out" glasses are right next to my keys.
I hate it when ....
I have to beg my son and DIL to have time w/ my grandson.
I hate it when
I get a craving for chocolate and there isn't one morsel to be found in my cupboards! :(
I hate it when
people chew their gum like a cow chewing cud or suck on their teeth after they eat. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
I hate it when.......
People write checks period. But even more so when they are in the express lane and write a check.

Second, I hate it when people stop in the middle of the aisle to have a lengthy conversation and block the whole aisle!
I hate...
1. People that say "have a good one".
2. Doo rags.
3. Pants that hang below the butt.
4. Dogs with clothes on.
5. My neighbor that wears nothing but shoes outside in his yard. (he's old and it's not pretty)
I hate what they did
I was so sad that he died and I don't like the storyline at all.
I hate to tell you
but if you are prowling around on this board you are not Ms. High Society.

Learn to keep it real dear, no one likes a high maintenance heifer.
hate to tell you
you don't know what you are talking about
Hate to be a pessimist ...
but smokeless tobacco "just" causes cancer of the head and neck, not change in mental status like you are describing. I would suspect he has put something else in his "tin" or whatever his snuff comes in. Going away to college is when kids get to try all the stuff the couldn't get away with at home, so I'm sorry, but I think your son is about to flush college money away on a semester-long party. That's what I observed when I was in school.
Don't you just hate it when you are transcribing sm
concentrating real hard, and don't even realize they are there?  To top it off, they speak your name and you jump out of your skin?  I love my family to death but I swear I will have a heart attack some day. I have my desk situated to where all I have to do is look to my right side and can see whoever is at the door but I sometimes am concentrating so hard that I don't realize anyone is here. My youngest son (21) just did that to me-stood at the door and said "I found it".  He had been looking for his college class schedule. I think I am stuck to the ceiling. Somebody peel me off.......and it is only Monday.......
None, never wear a bra, hate it. nm

I hate to brag, but yes...
I'm lucky also! Just today as I was working, my husband was doing the laundry and vacuuming. His job allows him to be home a lot of the time, and when he is, he definitely does his share! He understands that I work just as hard as he does. We inspire each other, I believe, to do more for our family and home life. I don't really say this too often to other women because most of the time it is the opposite for them. My husband is not perfect, he has his faults, but so do I and that's how I look at it. You either put your foot down and make changes or you live with it and be unhappy.
I hate those things!
I just know they're waiting to latch onto an eyeball and suck it dry.

They USED to be all over here. Husband asks if we REALLY have to have a few hundred chickens and ducks running around loose in spider detection mode? Yes, we do. So shut up.
Men hate cats?
Gosh, please don't tell the love of my life, my friend, lover, sunshine, everything that has meaning in life husband that- he adopted my 2 furries and brought them home for me. My husband is my passion- the furries come second.
I HATE Wal-Mart!!!

So, last weekend, 10/27, I ordered a large Nintendo Wii bundle (this includes a bunch of games and accessories) from Wal-Mart's website for my daughter for Christmas. On 10/30, I received an email stating that the Wii console was "not available" and they were canceling this part of my order. I tried to cancel the rest of my order, but WM does not allow you to cancel online orders once you place them. Obviously, I'm extremely mad as I now have a bunch of games and accessories for the Wii but no way to play/use them!! I really feel like I was tricked into buying this very expensive bundle when there's no guarantee that I will be able to get the Wii console before Christmas. I actually filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and sent a letter to Wal-Mart's corporate office. I received a response back from their customer service dept stating that they would call me to "resolve this issue" within one business day, but that was 2 days ago and nothing as of yet. The really crappy part on their behalf is that they are STILL selling this Wii bundle on their website and it states it's IN STOCK when they know very well that it's not!! So, I'm not the only one that is going to be tricked into paying hundreds of dollars for games and accessories and not getting the Wii console!

I really don't know if there is someone else that I can complain to - like the Attorney General or what??? I really feel like this is very unethical of them to do this. I know I can take all the games and accessories to the store to get a refund for that, but I'm still out the shipping charges which isn't right.

Please all you WM haters don't flame me for shopping there in the first place. I've never had a problem with them before and I'm not sure why they are treating me like this now. I really just wanted to get ideas or suggestions from anyone that knows whether this is illegal or just unethical and if there's anything I could do about it, besides complain on here and hope I keep someone else from shopping at this horrid place :)

Does anyone else HATE their sister like I do? nm
.
I hate it too, even in my own city (sm)

I find that as I get older, it's not even a question of not seeing as well.  It's almost more like disorientation,if it's an area I'm kind of familiar with, but not really.  Like I will be not quite sure how much farther I have to go to the light and then when I get to the light, I'm not sure what cross street I'm at.  Sound funky.  Kind of hard to explain.

I hate snow too
I want to hibernate until the winter is over with.  Even my dog hates it.  We lived down south for a few years and now back up here.  I am ready to go south again. I am actually getting nauseated over it. My plans are to go back.
Hate New Years Eve sm
Husband creamed in an accident by reckless driver on NY Eve, since then hate to leave the house. Ate in, nothing fancy, no alcohol, watched Kindergarten Cop, old SNL's and neither of us could stay awake until Midnight. No hangovers here either!!
I don't hate winter, but
enough is enough! Yeah, I know it's only February. We've been spoiled here in the Northeast. The last few winters have been so warm I'd started believing in global warming. Now I'm starting to think new ice age instead!
I have a new Hoover and hate it
I want my old one back.  This one is hard to get the plate off to clean out the dog hair, it is hard plastic and takes several minuetes to get it back on correctly so it will seal and suck out the water.  My old one that I had for 12 years was great and worked much better.  But since I bought it I will use it. I have 2 cats and 1 dog and it works good just don't like cleaning it.  But it has paid for itself.  Like I said my other one lasted 12 years and so the $159 I paid for that one really did pay for itself.  I used to use it about every 2-3 months as we live on the water and the carpets can get quite dirty.   I am hoping to get hard wood floors here in the next month or so and so won't use it so much.  But to me I love the convenience and it really kept my carpet in good shape.
I'm so glad - what I hate more is....
I saw that commercial and started crying when the people's legs walked by her and she sat there watching them pass with that cute face and floppy ears. That commercial makes me cry, but now I'm happy that she's adopted. However, what makes me cry worse and makes me want to comit murder is hearing about the people who are cruel to animals. I can't watch the commercial anymore with the singer who is singing a very sad song and all these pictures of abused and tortured animals are up. These animals have been traumatized and are so afraid and you can see it in their faces. I sure wish there was some way to educate humans that animals do have feelings and they feel pain, sadness, happyness, hunger, and neglect. I still can't figure out why humans do what they do to animals without a second thought. Throws me into a depression and I just sit and cry. I know it happens in life but I just can't take hearing about it.
I hate to use this phrase, but men really don't always think

I hate being so stressed out

ME TOO i hate that stuff.
but prettier!
I STILL hate the U.S.P.S. Slackers.

I really hate this happened to you...sm
It gives all pits a bad name. I am an immense dog lover myself. I love all dogs. There are some pits and Rotties, etc. bred from family pets and bred to be family pets. Unfortunately there are some drug dealers and gangstas who want this big bad dog to go with their gangsta facade. It is so wrong. It is unfortunate because these dogs are all given a bad name for the actions of a few. It makes people weary of them rightfully. My pit came from a mother and father who are big ole babies, inside kept family pets and the grandparents on both sides were family pets too so I do know mine was not intentionally bred to bring out bad traits such as aggressiveness. I knew where he came from and knew what kind of ancestors he had. This eased my mind. My pitbull CJ is a big ole baby. He is weary of a stranger BUT I would never allow him out of the fenced in yard which is in my backyard. He is not allowed even out in my yard in the part that is not fenced in. I am not taking a risk of him biting someone. He is pretty much okay with people even he don't know if they don't approach him. If they give him his space he will give them theirs. That is when I have friends over he doesn't know. But I don't allow him to just be free roaming around and I cannot express how irresponsible that is. The owners should have been paid a visit by the animal control or police and told you keep him in or on a leash or you won't keep him. I am firmly against letting any dog roam free even a poodle I wouldn't because also they can get ran over or anything. It is just flat out irresponsible.
