Kindergarten, yes. Third grade, no.

your daughter's in kindergarten, get used to it...
There are a lot of teachers in elementary school who, in my opinion, seem to be snotty little b*tch*s. I was an officer in the parent teacher association for several years at my children's elementary school and had my fill of them during that experience. Of course, there are a few that are true gems also.
Kindergarten teacher
My little one just started kindergarten this year, and already I am getting flak from the teacher. She called me to tell me that my daughter is having problems putting papers in her folder, and that it seems like her hands get flustered when shes trying to do tasks like this. She also tells me that I need to make her do things around the house, like clean up her toys, take her dinner plate to the sink, etc. (all of these things that she has been doing for a while now!), so of course I just say okay, not wanting to seem like a smarty pants by telling her she already does these things. After I got off the phone I gave my daughter papers and a folder and told her to put them inside. She did, without a problem at all. Well, I was dropping her off this morning and I was walking her downstairs to her class and I had her lunch box in my hand from when we got out of the car, and they have this basket that they put the lunches in that sits outside of the door. So as I am walking out I just put it in the basket and go to leave, and the teacher (who was heading towards the classroom) makes it a point to stop in front of me and tells me that I need to let her do these things on her own and not to do them for her. It took all I had not to explode in her face! If I happen to be carrying her lunch box and just put it in the basket myself, I see no problem with that. Its also the demeanor of this teacher that I don't like...kind of like one of those people who "tries to be helpful and nice" but is actually condescending and rude. I wanted to say, Lady, why don't you get your nose out of my business and go teach the class? UGH. She just drives me up one side of the wall and down the other!!
when my daughter was in kindergarten
she came home and told me all about Abe Lincoln's birthday they talked about his face being on the penny, him being a former president, etc. She came home the next day and said, "you know that man I was talking about, well he's dead."
Ah yes, my daughter is 6 and it started in Kindergarten and I'm seeing SM

That is probably will never end until she graduates!  Just a couple of days ago she went over to a friends house to play only to call me an hour later to say that her friend had another friend over as well and they were being mean to her.  My daughter wasn't all that upset actually.  Just sort of matter of fact about it all.

I've just let her work it out on her own and they always do.  I can't tell you how many times she came home from school saying "I'm mad at Abby and I'm not going to be her friend anymore" only to come home the next day and ask if Abby can spend the night on Friday.

I think you handled it fine.  The key is to make sure you act like it's just all no big deal.

My son's kindergarten teacher calls him

that all the time.  How old is the child we are talking about and the sex of the child/teacher?

There's just not enough information to give an opinion.

My diabetic FIL ends up in the
hospital all the time for cellulitis in his leg where a vein was harvested. He always needs IV drugs for that. One time my in-laws were on the road. They couldn't even make it home. They had to stop at midpoint in their 4-hour drive and have him admitted. He almost died. Thank goodness my MIL is a nurse and can recognize the signs early enough. He was getting septic.

anything that ends in TION sm
Which is not good because I put commonly misspelled words into my Expander but do you realize how many words end in TION????

but I know what you mean by putting off the hotkey thing. I have several words that fit that description... all variations (btw I just typed variatinos) of anything that starts with chole... kind of a mental block or something...

Go in now before it ends up costing you more . ..
Talk to your hospital to see if they accept a payment plan. I didn't have to pay anything up front for my delivery, so I would think you should be able to wait and make payments. Better to go in now versus continue to be in pain.

Good luck.
My daughter got to see too ends of the spectrum
One of her friends got very little since her parents are divorced and there isn't much money on either side. My friends across the street probably spent (between 3 kids) $5,000 (and their credit cards are all maxed out). They got a Wii(which I actually love and am thinking about saving up money for for the family), instruments for each child and quite a few other gifts. My daughter was the in between. She did get an MP3 player, but not super expensive (I got one too) and not too much else that would be considered expensive, some DVD's and CD's. She wanted a cell phone (her 7 year old cousin actually got a camera phone!), but we told her no because she just wanted it to talk to her friends and text. She does have a laptop, but that's because her cousin gave me one that she had and didn't need any more. All in all between our two daughters we probably spent about $200-$300 each.
making ends meet
I agree if you need money to support your family you should not be going to school right now...and if your full time job is not cutting it then get a couple part time jobs.  i work 3  jobs now; 1 FT and 2 PT and have so much work now its unbelievable.  I will never go back to working for just one service.  You never know when things are going to be slow.  If your husband is not getting enough on disability then he needs to look for something else too...there must be something he can do unless he is totally disabled.
Just about everything ends up on YouTube eventually.
The news is important. I recall I did not have a T.V. signal during 9/11 and it was 9:50 AM PST by the time I realized what had happened. I felt I had been sailing through the day when I should have been feeling dispair, and that was strange.

During a break, on 9/11, I opened up AOL and two a pic of the Twin Towers with smoke pouring out of their sides, just a small pic and I nearly did not read it.
"This is the song that never ends...."sm
and when you hear someone sing it you can't get it out of your mind for hours!

don't know about the 12 day thing, but to me it starts--sm
the day after thanksgiving and does not end until new years day. that is long enough. by the time Christmas gets here, everybody is snapping at each other and being all rude and hateful, and then acting like everything is hunky dorie on Christmas day. By the time new years rolls around, everybody's attitudes gets back to normal. again, can't wait til it is over! JMO

Season 6 starts mid-January - the 15th maybe? (sm)
There have been commercials on FOX but cannot recall the date - you can watch the trailer at FOX and the date is probably there also but couldn't find on my quick search. I'm having serious withdrawal myself :(
Christmas starts on the evening of 12/24, not the day after T-giving
I'm Roman Catholic, and we celebrate Christmas until the epiphany. So our decorations are up until then.
I also remember a friend of mine who lived in upstate NY. She said that they had a local tradition where she lived that said they left decorations up until Presidents Day. She was the only person who ever told me that one, so I don't know if that's so.
American Idol starts tonight! Any fans?
I always love to watch the auditions. They are so funny!

Gee I hope he starts fitting in and feeling at home soon LOL
I love how comfy he looks.  It is a sign of a loving puppy home that he fit in so quickly and was that relaxed...  He is beautiful
Looks like Comcast starts monitoring internet usage in October. Has anyone here ever been

contacted about excessive usage from Comcast.

Okay and a Big Thank You to MT Stars!!!

Hi, Ms. Hayseed - Thank you for checking up.  I actually had some pretty scary pain.  I'm 3 weeks postop.  Turns out it is nerves trying to heal up and regroup.  Of course, I'm really headstrong and tried to do too much.

But, I want to tell you a wonderful story and a thank you to MTStars as well.  Because of my original post, I met a lovely lady on this website.  We are about the same age and going through the same battle with breast cancer.  The similarities are uncanny.  We were diagnosed at the same time and she is going through this alone on the west coast and I am mostly on my own on the east coast.  My boyfriend is gone 20 days a month.  It turns out we have so much in common and have become a lifeline for each other.  We also love our flower gardens and have our 3 dogs to keep us company!!  Today is her surgery so please pray for her too.  She's on her own out there, but I was fortunate to have my sister and boyfriend with me, so she needs our thoughts and prayers.

So, I want to thank you and everyone at MTStars for your thoughtfulness and prayers.  What a godsend you have been.

Yes, thanks MT Stars!

Takes a load off you, Hayseed!  Your pic looks like me last winter, only had a yellow hat, not looking forward to winter....  Gotta get myself one of those light thingies to carry around I think.  At least Jake will keep my feet warm...

Dancing with the stars . . .
Anybody watching?  Is anyone else besides me perplexed that Jerry Springer is still on?
My Stars! He is GORGEOUS! sm
wow! I would snap him up in a minute! I cannot imagine anyone putting that beautiful dog up for adoption, but you are so lucky! If your DH is not into showing, perhaps putting out for stud? there is money in that too, and he would make some beautiful puppies!!! I cannot imagine your other dog rejecting him, but maybe more than one visit would be a good idea. Good luck to you! ks
Did anyone see Dancing with the Stars?

Quite an eclectic group this time.  What did you think?

You must not come to Stars often, This is a term

I don't think stars deserve it...sm for why..
I think stars overly compensated, bragged on, pampered, etc...and for what? giving us reasons to sit on our butts and become lazy and unhealthy?  They have so much money and yet, at these functions, they're loaded with tons of free, very expensive gifts!  The people who deserve big functions for recognition are the real-life heroes like cops, firefighters, the military, doctors, nurses, etc....THEY deserve the awards, the gifts, the glory, but most of them would just like to be recognized for all that they do and thanked by people.
Dancing with the Stars - Who got voted off? nm

I have tickets to Theater Under the Stars in Atl
for the season! I can hardly wait, Dream Girls with Jennifer Holliday. I would love to see Peachtree Battle which has been playing now for 3 years, I think is what they said. Supposed to be really funny. Which live theater are you speaking of?

Dancing With the Stars. I wanted to see who else was staying, but they (SM)
kept fooling around and I would go from one channel to another watching something else, then back again.  The commercials were over, and I dashed back into the room with the pan, sat down in my chair and without thinking laid the hot pan down beside me, realized what I had just done, but too late!  They didn't even announce the next couple to stay then anyway!  I watch the show from time to time, at least parts of it, but never got that into it, just wanted to know who would be eliminated last night. After the carpet deal I didn't care and still don't know!
Were you at all aware of the 60s and 70s? That's exactly what the bulk of rock stars WERE doing!
fffff
Nope, I'm afraid it CONTINUES with MT Stars
:(
does anyone know how to access the mental health board on MT stars??

I know this isn't the right place to ask but have not received an answer anywhere else yet.  I came across it accidentally last evening when someone posted.  Thanks!

any Dancing with Stars fans finding this bunch -
difficult to get into or is it just me?
The so called movie stars of today are a big laugh
LL has nothing going for her in the way of the blond bombshell, Marilyn Monroe. Not the figure, not the status of being a real bonifide star, nothing. I know of no actress these days who can start to fill the shoes of actresses of years gone by. I miss the glamour, the mystique. These spoiled brats they have now that apparently like to show everything and in no class like the oldies. I cannot get past pics in my head of LL passed out in a car looking like a dopehead. Some class, huh?
The same thing happened with Skating with the Stars between Lloyd Eisler &
when Eisler's wife was 8 month's pregnant in Canada.  What a couple of selfish people.
I was the first girl in the county play Little League - made the All Stars too! Girls rule! Also..

that very same year I won the county spelling bee!  The word I won it on was "ptomaine."

One other special thing happened to me that year I got my ears pierced and hit a home run on my 10th birthday.  I swear it... I totally remember touching my little gold studs before I got up to bat and then "crack."  Even the people that didn't like me playing because I was a girl had to cheer.  1978 was awesome.

My grandma also played baseball during WWI.

This thing is not connected to the above, but I am related to Martin Van Buren, 8th President.

Oops the movie is 1408, I guess MT stars doesn't like things in quotation marks. nm
