My mom and sister had theirs done. Each took about 6 weeks before getting in a sneaker. Very painful surgery. Keep your foot propped above your heart. My sister laid on the couch and kept it propped on the back of the couch, said it didn't throb that way. Of course, if you're trying to manage a foot pedal, you're up a creek!
