fave bedtime snack

Try Toasted Corn Doritos with extra sharp cheddar cheese (hand-shredded) & sprinkled generously over the chips -- Pop plate in toaster oven, 225* for 5 mins.  YUM!

bedtime
My 12-year-old goes to bed at 9 and gets up around 6:15. My 9-year-old goes to bed between 8-8:30. The other poster is right, it really depends on the child. My 9-year-old does not do well when he does not get enough sleep. My pediatrician says they should get 9-10 hours of sleep per night.
Well, it's bedtime. We debated
about crating him or just baby gating him, with me pushing for crating him but DH not liking the idea, and then Cedric settled the issue by finding the loose foot from a cabinet and taking it to the dog bed to gnaw on. I was sure I'd already picked up all the bones they hadn't consumed (the rawhide ones), so I went right over to see what this was and discovered it was wood. He gave a low growl as I tried to take it, but I never flinched and got it away. The growl was the only display, and now he knows that doesn't work on me.

He is now safely crated and only cried for 30 seconds. He's got a safe but long-lasting treat bone in there, so he'll be fine.

New fave
Phleboliths - ever since I saw them referred to in the VSR bloopers as "flea bullets"
Maybe cut out the snack all together
and the girl won't eat them all.  I would not say anything to the mother though; she may not be aware.  It is the teacher's responsibility.  It's also not fair to the children that do not get one, but maybe they are passing up thier donut and giving it to her out of kindness.  I just cannot fathom a child sitting and eating 5 or 6 donuts and the teacher not taking this child aside or have a rule, one per customer.  Seems odd to me.
If you know their favorite snack
You could buy a nice gift box, the sturdy ones that look like they have wrapping paper on them already...maybe something to match the office, and then fill it with their favorite candy, snack, or coffee/creamors...whatever you know they like. Then wrap it with a nice ribbon.
maybe a less appealing snack......
I am sure the religious education teacher (speaking from experience) would be grateful beyond words if the donut ritual was dropped in favor of more healthy snacks.

what snack can you not stop eating?
I like snacking but these animal crackers from wal-mart i can NEVER stop snacking on... The only reason I keep buying them is cause they are low in fat and I would be snacking probably on chips or something worse for me if I didn't have them!!

They are what i snack on late night too!

I have stuff like granola bars and I like peanut butter on rice cakes... but i mean i just keep digging handfuls and handfuls of these little critters out. They are delicious! And I'm bored...
my fave too...along with Fried Green Tomatoes
