In Reply to: rant! who's owed the most child support? - XanaX

My fiance's ex-wife got custody of their son when he was 6. My fiance paid his child support and got generous visitation. . After a year, he called his ex and told her he was going to keep Aaron for another week - she said fine. . He never did take Aaron back - she never complained - only asked to see him a couple of times a year. . My fiance continued to pay HER child support for 2 years - he was afraid if he stopped sending the checks, she would take Aaron back. . Finally, he just quit sending the check. . and he never asked her for child support - everything worked out fine - Aaron is now a college professor and he sees my fiance several times a month and sees his mother several times a year. . His mom just isn't very loving or motherly - I think it was good that my fiance raised his son instead of her. . It's also good that he was financially able to support him without help - I know how hard it was for me when I divorced - my child was 18 and so I didn't get child support but at 18, she was still somewhat financially dependent on me. .

Your fiance is a very lucky woman!

I'm sure she would appreciate anything that you made her, simply for the love and time you put into it.

There is a link below to an article on HGTV.com about creating indoor fountains or water features. I'm sure if you Google it you can find lots of suggestions.

Another project I've seen on several decorating shows is a coffee table or other small table that is built like a shadow box with a plexiglass top. You can put photos, mementos, etc., inside, and they can be changed as time goes on and maybe there are new additions to the family...

Best of luck to you and best wishes! Please be sure to let us know what you decided to do and how much she loved it!
