most homeschoolers have a social network of other homeschoolers for sports and other extracurricular activities. They GO and see things for themselves, not just read about it. They have discipline. and, many public schoolteachers anymore don't even have education in the subjects they are teaching, aren't allowed to discipline and oft times teach things some of us don't want our children taught. I do agree in being exposed to the real world, but if I were raising my kids in a metropolitan area (like i grew up, in CA), i would home school. But in these smaller rural schools, maybe not.
